True audio drama
Hooked me with natural selection. I’m in now.
Yahooi! Comedy gold!
If you ever wondered what might happen if Mel Brooks ran into the languorous cast of KING OF THE HILL, you'd get something a bit like the Wynebago Warrior, which is the only audio drama I know that fuses old school postmodern jokes (such as the character repeating the actions of the narrator) with a casual and endearingly laidback examination of Western comic characters, but somehow feeling sui generis, not some BLAZING SADDLES knockoff. The jokes are leisurely and always land, often delivered in a casual manner that feels more like a very fun anthropological trip into the heart of America rather than a hard comedy. The show's cast is energetic, but naturally so. And none of the episodes ever outstay their welcome. This is very fun comedy, deservedly popular, and if you haven't yet listened to it, you're missing out on one of the great audio dramat treats.
Creatively bankrupt
Humor is often subjective but I think a strong case can be made that if you run the same joke into the ground (narrator says something which is repeated immediately by a character), not once, not twice, but several times in a single episode, in two seasons of many such episodes, that these writers objectively have no more good ideas.
