She received her graduate degree in Dentistry in India and completed her General Practice Residency at the University of California School of Dentistry in San Francisco. She is the former Director of Dental Services at the Department of Public Health, City and County of San Francisco. Her focus has been on homeless populations and people living with HIV/AIDS; and the oral health care needs of head and neck cancer patients.
