Two new Catholics share their journey in faith. Knowledge and laughs will be the order of the day.
Why Do Catholics Do That?
In this week’s episode, we ramble a little - what else is new? We are talking about lots of fun stuff like the Transfiguration of the Lord, the latest with us and “strange” things that Catholics do. If you’ve ever thought about checking out a Catholic Mass but thought you might feel a little lost, this may be helpful for you.
Updates & Scapulars
So we know it has been awhile since we have done a show but we promise it was for a good reason. Check out this weeks show as we give you an update and fill you on what has been going on and we have an interesting discussion on what seems to be a unknown part of Catholic tradition. Well at least unknown to us lol.
What is Pentecost?
Happy Birthday to the Catholic Church! Today we are chatting about Pentecost, plus the latest news with us. We appreciate your patience while we navigate through the next few weeks, you’ll hear more about why as you listen in. Thanks for listening!
As always, we love to hear from you so please don’t hesitate to drop us a line anytime!
What is Ascension Thursday?
In this week's episode, we'll fill you in on the latest about our upcoming big adventure. After that we're chatting about Ascension Thursday and pondering what that might have been like to witness. We cap things off by interviewing the Co-President of B.U.I.L.D. of Lexington, KY. Kabby Akers talks about this incredible social justice ministry, the history and what they'll be focusing on at this week's Nehemiah Action event. You won't want to miss it!
The Story of Saint Catherine of Siena
This week we moved things outdoors so we could enjoy some of the lovely Kentucky spring that FINALLY decided to show up. We realized that in the midst of all of the huge changes that have been going on with us these past few weeks, we never finished talking about our Lenten commitments so we’re taking some time to reflect on their impact.
What Do You Let Into Your Heart?
In today’s episode, we’re talking about being discerning about the things we allow into our hearts. It’s a learning process - one we will surely never master - BUT we’re figuring out how to listen to those pulls and nudges that help to clue us in along the way.
Be it a television show, books, video games, jobs or even people - when have you felt called to remove something from your life that glorified sin?
Awkward Born Again Catholic
I am a Born Again Catholic.
I say this because I grew up Catholic but I didn’t pay attention to the church around me until I was Born Again while I was on a retreat March 6, 2010.
I love that I can relate to the the story about her freezing right when she were suppose to bow after the priest bowed to her.
I did the same thing once.
I personally haven’t had the nerve to take the gifts up to the alter since then.
I also can relate to the ping that he heard when he passed by the Catholic Church on his way to work & the hesitation that they both had while on their conversion.
The Catholic Church is filled with so much wonderful things but it is still easy to be awkward in it.
I think that this podcast is going to become a great resource for every person that strives to not just sit in the pews but to get to know Catholicism fully.
2 very enthusiastic thumbs up from this non-Catholic!
I just binged all 3 episodes of the podcast and LOVED all 137 minutes! I’m learning so much, and the personal anecdotes mixed in with your rapport, experiences, and history lessons are awesome! 😉 I’m really looking forward to more and I’m not even Catholic - it’s great entertainment and education!
As a new Catholic myself, I really enjoy listening too these two talk about their journey into Catholicism.
