The Aww Shift Podcast was created specifically to focus on the critical area of any success or failure in life. Our identity. Identities don’t change in life, but they do make shifts that lead to good or bad endings.

There are two pivotal types of moments that shift everything in life. Moments that make us say, “Aww shift, this is awesome” or “Aww shift, this horrible.” Either moment is followed by major shifts in our lives that are hard to navigate alone. Bottom line is, we have to deal with them whether we want to or not. My passion is to share stories, insights, and ideas on how to handle these “Aww Shift” moments in life like a pro.

Having grown up in foster care and enduring countless “Aww Shift” moments on the road to the NFL and eventually becoming a 7 figure serial entrepreneur, Anthony now teaches others how make “shift” happen in life and business through his coaching programs and speeches.

Each weekly podcast episode is filled with off the cuff ideas, strategies, action steps, and case studies from Anthony or his guest with one goal in mind. Take you to and through your next “Aww Shift” moment with purpose and power.

Chad Willardson - Stress Free Money

Chad Willardson - Stress Free Money

In this episode, our guest is Chad Willardson, President, and Founder of Pacific Capital. Being in the industry for a long time, Chad has cemented himself being one of the cream of the crop in the financial industry. Helping entrepreneurs and families grow their money, stress-free is what drives Chad to pursue his goal of financial excellence. He authored the book “Stress-Free Money” and today, he shares his advice on how to effectively handle your finances and live a life without worrying about your finances.

[06:20] Why should we listen to you?
I am one of the 0.01% top financial advisors in the country.

    [09:30] Finances
You don’t need to pay a full-time investment advisor when you are starting out but you need to meet a fiduciary advisor to create a plan. Most people go just go with the flow and that’s why they make a lot of mistakes along the way.
[10:46] sadly, most financial people you can find are driven by quick commissions and not with the goal of a fiduciary planner. They focus on what to sell on you instead of what they should do to protect your interest.
[11:29] When getting a financial advisor, you should first ask if they are a fiduciary. Fiduciary means being legally obligated to put your interest first even at the cost of them, losing money.
[12:40] You should make sure that they have clients similar to your situation so that there is something in common to work with.

[13:40] How did you become a financial advisor?
I had no idea. I went to apply on different jobs and I ended up in Merrill Lynch. I did not know anything at the beginning, I was clueless but I strived hard to learn everything, and thankfully, it all worked out.

    [15:13] Aww Shift Moments
I was in charge of hundreds of millions of dollars in 2008, and it all went down by over a hundred million dollars within a year. I was taking the burden of everyone’s financial life on my shoulders and I questioned myself if this is something that I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
[16:08] Merrill Lynch was bought by the Bank of America that same year. It was a major crisis but we all pulled through it. I learned a lot, forged stronger bonds with colleagues and clients, and loyalty was built.

    [16:52] Stress-Free Money
The book is for people who want financial freedom. It is all about the principles of overcoming financial obstacles and how to fight through that. It uncovers the seven main obstacles of financial freedom.
[20:29] I expect people to have a clear and practical ideas on how to get closer to financial freedom after they read the book. Financial freedom, in my opinion, is the absence of worrying about money.

[26:27] What promise did God make to the world, when He created you?
I would make an impact on the world and never be in the background.

    Key Quotes:
[08:35 – 08:39] “Money is green. How you make it will not matter, it’s about what you do with when you earned it.”
[20:54 – 20:56] “Tell your money where to go otherwise it well tell you where to go.”
[22:08 – 22:16] “If you can use money for a good purpose, grow it for the benefit of your family and the people in need.”

    [06:42] Becoming a Beatboxer
I dreamt of being able to beatbox in front of thousands of people having millions of subscribers when I was young. A video of mine went viral five years ago and it got a billion views on Facebook. It was the turning point in my life where I stopped studying nursing.
[8:31] My family and friends told me that beatboxing is just a hobby. It made me fear committing to it fully. I was suffocated because I wanted to be a beatboxer. The video being viral, made me learn a lot of things in life.

    [11:06] Navigating negativities

[21:57] I am hoping to monetize my podcast, have a large audience, and speak with an amazing guest in the future.

Throughout the years, Hayley had experienced a lot as she treaded her path towards the career she was destined for. She is driven by her duty to help encourage people who have lost their appetite in achieving their endeavors – that there is always something within you that is left undiscovered. Today, Hayley shares with us how she managed to survive a rocky life and why you should take care and trust your gut.

[12:40] Why should we listen to you?
I have a good sense of humor. I’m funny and I can always pull something interesting out from people.

[13:50] How did you achieve your current level of happiness?
When I was in my teenage years, I took anti-depressants and anti-anxiety. I was insecure and had to constantly change schools because I don’t feel like I fit into society.
[15:11] I was pushed into a career that was not meant for me. I realized that this is not something that I want, this is not where I was supposed to be.
[16:24] I followed my heart and leaned into living a healthier life that eventually, lead to becoming a certified health coach. I am happy now because I am nourished and energized.

    [18:39] Self-Care
I make sure to spend quality time for myself. You should take notice of what your gut is telling you.
[21:08] People play victim most of the time. Claiming that they do not know where to start and get overwhelmed.
[21:49] They just don’t trust themselves and afraid that they might fail.

    [25:45] Business-awareness
I taught myself how to build a business online. I was making seven-figure income through my services and products that I offer, and I wanted to teach other people how to do it.
[29:01] It takes time for someone to nurture their audience and have fans that would whole-heartedly support their business endeavors.

[32:23] What promise did God make, when He created you?
He would help you believe in yourself.

    Key Quotes:
[17:49 – 17:58] “Slow down, rest and do nothing, wait for the moment where thoughts will come in.”
[28:47 – 28:50] “You can’t expect people to buy just by offering it.”

Kathryn n Michael Redman - Fulfilled In Life And Business

Kathryn n Michael Redman - Fulfilled In Life And Business

In today’s episode, our guests are Kathryn and Michael Redman, Founders of Half a Bubble Out Advertising. For more than 18 years in the business industry, Kathryn and Michael are in pursuit of helping small and upcoming business owners to find something fulfilling on their passion while making a profit out of it. Together, they created the book “Fulfilled”, to lay the blueprint of a successful business. Today, Kathryn and Michael will share with us how to a make profit out of your passion.

[10:35] Why should we listen to you?
[Michael] Being married for 27 years, doing business for 18 years, and has survived the Great Recession, we have grown not just one but two seven-figure businesses in two different markets. If you want to learn about profitable business, serving others, and achieve personal fulfillment in doing so, we are the people you want to ask.

[12:01] How did you get into the business?
[Kathryn] I have not originated in a business-oriented family. Michael and I had worked together on our previous careers and we discovered how we loved working together. There’s incredible mutual respect and giftings that we have discovered between the two of us and we have a clear recognition that the success we have achieved, is independent of one another.

[14:06] [Michael] There were some dynamics that we need to value people if we wanted to do business. We want to grow ourselves with the company and the people that we cared about. We should not be irresponsible if we want to build the company out of trust, competence, and character.

    [18:28] Navigating difficulties
[Michael] Turnover rate has been one of the biggest expenses in corporate America and people have created the notion of building as much experience as can. Retraining employees are way too expensive because of this myth.
[19:34] Because we value people, quality, and accountability, we have clients that stick around us for a long time. Your client will value your competency for a lifetime.
[20:35] [Kathryn] Treating people and having an excellent interpersonal-relationship is enjoyable. Valuing relationships allowed us to be in a place of peace and encourage us to go back to an environment that people would enjoy.

    [25:02] Faith
[Kathryn] Faith is critical to who we are, our life, and our identity. One can be a stained or clear glass where; a stained glass is leaving it all to faith that binds you while a clear glass is to focus on the values and practicality. We opted for the clear glass because it would be hard for people to follow with faith as the barrier towards learning.
[26:18] [Michael] Faith has influenced our philosophy, core values, and business decisions in every part of our business.

    [27:50] Fulfilled
[Michael] We could not find any book that allowed us to make a profitable business that integrates core values and leadership development. Our book is the reflection of what we learned over the years and how to utilize the most out of our gifts, talents, and skills.

[30:19] [Kathryn] some so many people are hard-pressed choosing between profit and passion. We encountered many people who lose their dreams because of the lack of provision or there is too much and it led to the destruction of a relationship.

[32:14] In a sense, we want to create a mini-MBA for entrepreneurs. It’s a passionate provision model that states the six areas that you need to focus on to achieve the minimum working competency to be successful in running a business.

[35:08] What promise did God make to the world, when he created you?
[Kathryn] That there would be someone in the room who could crack a joke when tension rose.

[35:51] [Michael] There is somebody to help you through the paradoxes in life and navigate valleys.

    Key Quotes:
    [10:49 – 10:52] “Business is a privilege and an honor. It’s a good thin

    Michelle Seiler - Exit Rich

    Michelle Seiler - Exit Rich

In today’s episode, our guest is Michelle Seiler, Founder, and CEO of Seiler Tucker. She has been in the business industry for more than 20 years, lauded as one of the most reputable businesswomen in the industry when it comes to closing deals, a two-time best-selling author, a keynote speaker, a master in merger and acquisition and so much more! Michelle fervently provides advice to her clients about the right time and processes needed when selling a business with a profit. As someone who has sold over a thousand businesses, Michelle shares to us the 6Ps from her best-selling book, Exit Rich, and utilizes it to sell like a true business champion.
    [04:59] Why people get stuck?
It’s a pretty difficult question to answer. It might have something to do with their upbringing, genetics, network, self-motivation, and the trouble of finding the reason for their existence, their whys.
[05:52] How did you become who you are?
I am not the same with my siblings. My mom thought I will be a reporter but I am an entrepreneur at heart. I started owning a business at 18 and I worked at Xerox for six months. I was promoted as a regional manager, handling over 85 people and people hated my guts for moving up the ladder for a short period of time.
[07:29] I’m a tough person. I don’t let things get into me and I knew it stemmed from jealousy. They were just upset about being bested by me getting the position. At the end of the day, we realize to not take it personally.
[09:02] Women in the Corporate World
It is hard for women to be in the corporate world. I remembered attending a conference and there were only two of us women out of thousands of attendees, the rest were men. It’s is definitely a 90% male-dominated industry where they post pictures of men promoting other men seldom do you find anything related to women. Unfortunately, that’s life.
    [10:12] Journey towards my passion
It was a big move. I was making six-figures with great benefits as a regional manager but because of my love with entrepreneurship, I reached out to the company in an attempt to buy one of their franchises. Instead of owning the franchise, I was convinced by them to a partnership, assist them, and expound their business visibility. I tried it for six months.
[11:35] We were doing well. I was selling hundreds of franchises that thoroughly expanded their brand, but they got cocky. They started promises on things that they failed to deliver.
[12:21] I cannot continue my partnership with them in good faith and ethics hence I transitioned from franchise sales, development, and consulting to selling businesses.
    [12:53] Exit Rich
It is all about building a sustainable and scalable business that can be sold when you are ready. It’s about building a business that makes more money and can survive without you. Most business owners fail to plan their exit, where they can only sell their business in a downtrend due to catastrophic scenarios. The best example would be restaurants during the COVID19-Pandemic.
[14:44] You need to build a business that suits the buyer's need in a particular timeframe and you can sell it at your desired price, which most business owners don’t do.
    [15:41] The 6Ps towards a successful business
Handing their business from generation to generation are what most businesspersons thought. But nowadays, young people want to create their own masterpiece. Your business should run on all 6Ps because buyers will buy a business that follows that recipe.
[16:48] First, is People. Businessowners should make sure they have the right people who can manage the company without your presence.
[17:38] Second, is Product. You need to ask yourself if the industry you are in is dying or thriving. Being in a dying industry does not mean it’s a sign of your downfall, it means you need to change, pivot or shift.
    [24:11] Third, is Proce

Angel Cellucci - Medical Fraud Awareness

Angel Cellucci - Medical Fraud Awareness

In this episode, we have the amazing Angel Cellucci, the "Guardian Angel" of medical Fraud issues. She is here with us to spread awareness about medical fraud and how you can avoid falling into the trap of paying outrageous medical bills.

[03:40] 9 out of 10 of your medical bills contain errors
Teach people how to be in control and be able to use their voices to say "Not on my watch!" and to stand up against medically unnecessary treatment.
[05:47] How do you start this whole process?
I created a system and I created tools to help people how to document, organize, verify and negotiate their medical bills.
[08:28] Who started all of this healthcare fraud?
It can be absolutely anybody who's trying to take your hard-earned money. Healthcare fraud can happen to the smartest people.
[10:21] Who were you before you got into battle with Medical Fraud?
I'm reading a book called "The Buddha and the Badass by Vishen Lakhiani". You have to go back to your childhood, experiences, the painful ones that you've endured as a child because that's formulated what your core values are. And my core values are: "Nobody will ever be excluded on my watch", "Nobody will ever be bullied on my watch".
[12:09] My whole life, I've always felt like a chained butterfly as if I have all of this spirit and energy inside me but yet I have this metal chain around my neck or something and it was August 14, 2014, the switch turned off. I left my marriage and I became this free, beautiful butterfly and I became more focused on my passion.
    [13:16] My Mid-life Reset
I reset my entire life because I wasn't happy and happiness to me, meant everything.
[16:39] Finding your voice and believing in yourself

Everybody thinks they have their shift together, but they don't. Why do we wear masks? My mask is off and I am as raw and open as I can be if it is going to help the next person be a better human being and move humanity's needle forward.
[18:03] I started thinking to myself. This was the biggest catalyst for me which is why I left. I had a son who was 20 and my daughter was 23 and I thought to myself, "If my daughter was in the same kind of relationship that I was in at that point in time. Not feeling loved, not feeling respected, not feeling valued. What would I do? If my son was married and his wife was feeling that way, what would I tell them to do? Am I being a good example to my children?"
[19:21] My Biggest Aww Shift moment
It was the hardest time of my life. I had everybody turned their backs on me, everyone.
[21:27] What promise did God make to the world when he created you?

I think that he would be sending somebody who is willing to be incredibly transparent and share their struggles and growth and stories to empower you to be a better human being.

    Keynotes
[04:55 - 05:26] "To teach people how to do what I do for the insurance industry and stand up for themselves. I take the complex subject of medical bills and I simplify it for them. So that they feel empowered and in control and are able to use their voice to say "Not on my watch!" to say "No, I'm not paying that bill" to negotiate their bills, to stand up for medically unnecessary treatment, to do all those things and to keep bills hard-earned money where it belongs, in their pockets.
[11:02 - 11:11] "You have to go back to your childhood, experiences, the painful ones that you've endured as a child because that's formulated what your core values are."
[15:13 - 15:17] "Nobody's going to give you the power to believe in yourself, you have to do it yourself."
[16:47 - 16:51] "Never judge your insides with somebody else's outsides."
[20:14 - 20:23] "When you step out to grow and you put yourself first, it's going to make other people around you feel uncomfortable 'cause you're not in the same sandbox as them anymore."
