Nothing decreases the cost of acquisition and lifetime value of clients like a network of great relationships, and the ultimate version of that is a community designed around your clients and prospects. BUT where do you find the playbook that makes that happen? That is why this podcast exists. You'll learn that community building doesn't live in a vacuum. It has to coexist with a problem you are trying to solve, a category you are in (or better yet, designing yourself), and the culture you are building inside your organization. THE GOOD NEWS building up to it can have many short-term wins on the way, as long as you are strategic about it. This show will provide you the strategies you need to accomplish the ultimate goal of building a community around your business, and provide abilities to connect with experts in the disciplines needed to build a profitable company where ownership, employees, and clients genuinely like each other.

Ep 178 | Launching a Content Lightning Strike w/ Rajiv Nathan

Lightning strikes are tactically orchestrated moments that let's the world know who you are and what you do, and smart companies love to pull these strikes off through noteworthy parties and PR at big conferences.

But that's an expensive bet to make

That's why we're here to propose a less expensive, more scaleable way to pull off a lightning strike: a game changing piece of content.

You probably recognize next week's guest, Rajiv "RajNation" Nathan, from his "Karl" lightning strike- a parody of Eminem's "Stan" that went completely viral on LinkedIn and changed the trajectory of his business.

That was no accident. He's also worked with multiple clients to produce this type of content and reap similar rewards.

    Raj shared about:

    - How you should plan your creative so people will want to engage with it and share organically
    - Why he recommends you take certain steps to distribute the content yourself to increase the chance of virality
    - What you need to be prepared to do once the content catches fire on social media to capitalize on it long after the moment is over

If you're trying to come up with a cost efficient, rapid way to let your market know exactly what their problem is that you can solve,  listen to this!

Event tips when attending a conference
Pablo talks about the importance of stepping up to people in a line or an elevator and building a relationship with them. Not everyone is comfortable with connecting right away, it’s helpful to pay attention to what is going on, says Matt, to ask a question that will be something that others in the room would also find value and will be a magnet to bring people to them, it is helpful for introverts who might not be comfortable with walking up to someone. Asking smart questions creates social validation, and Pablo says that he adds context to the conversation when possible. Check out the rest HERE

Ep 175 | Achieving Community Led Growth In The Partner Economy w/ Scott Wilder

All of a sudden, everyone is talking about community, and we know why- there is no more powerful asset for a company to invest in.

But few people have had long term success in this field, so it's hard to really understand the path to community led growth.

That's why when someone with over 20 years of owning the "community" title for some of the most ubiquitous brands in tech asks to come on the show, I say yes.

Enter Scott K. Wilder.  He has led marketing and community for brands such as Intuit, Adobe, Audacity, Hubspot, and now, Crowdvocate (where he's building out a new category I'm in love with.)
