Lionel Sanders: Breakfast with Bob St George Championship Edition

Enjoy this interview from our Breakfast with Bob St George Championship Edition, recorded the morning after the Ironman World Championship in St George.

He’s “must watch TV” – Lionel Sanders gave us another dramatic performance yesterday at the Ironman World Championship, digging deep as only he can to make it into second place in the closing meters of the run. The Lion joined us the morning after to give us his reflections on the race and his preparation for it.

Daniela Ryf: Breakfast with Bob St George Post-Race

Daniela Ryf: Breakfast with Bob St George Post-Race

Enjoy this Breakfast with Bob: St George Edition conversation with Daniela Ryf, recorded the morning after she won the Ironman World Championship.

The champion is back! The last Ironman World Championship that Daniela Ryf won was back in 2018, when she overcame a rough start and lots of doubts to get her 4th title. Yesterday in St George, we all had the pleasure of watching the Daniela that can dominate a race and blow away almost everyone else - her bike split of 4 : 37 : 47 was 23rd fastest overall. Daniela now has 5 Ironman World Championships and 5 Ironman 70.3 World Championships. She joined us the morning after her race for a post-race chat.

Daniela Ryf: Breakfast with Bob St George Pre-Race

Daniela Ryf: Breakfast with Bob St George Pre-Race

Enjoy this Breakfast with Bob: St George Edition conversation with Daniela Ryf, recorded a few days before she won the Ironman World Championship.

Daniela Ryf is the four-time Ironman World Champion and the five-time Ironman 70.3 World Champion. How amazing has her career been? Between 2014 and 2021, Daniela had 39 wins in 45 races. But in 2019, Daniela finished 13th in Kona, and at the 2021 Ironman 70.3 World Championship she was 11th. In this awesome conversation she shared that even her godson was doubting her. “He introduced me to someone,” she laughs, “and said that I used to be good at triathlon.” As we head into St. George, it sounds like one of the most dominant athletes in history would like to show everyone - including her godson - that she is still pretty damn good at triathlon!

One of my goals for my athletic life is for Mr. Babbitt to interview me! Then I know I have made it!

I love watching Breakfast with Bob during IMWC week. However if you listen to all of his interviews, you will find that he discusses the same things with the same athletes over and over. I think he needs to be more creative on asking questions because he gets stuck in things he has asked over and over. Otherwise he does have an engaging personality.
