Back of the Net is AFC Bournemouth's only weekly podcast where Cherries fan can listen to match analysis, features, interviews and behind the scenes information each and every Monday morning. We'll bring you fans vox-pops from the latest Cherries game, as well as providing our own take on proceedings in our Championship, FA Cup and EFL Cup campaigns. As well as featuring the first team, we'll go behind the scenes at the Vitality Stadium, as well as featuring other teams including the Women's team, the Development Squad, and the Under 21's.     Bournemouth's Eu-FOUR-ia At Newcastle

    On Saturday, AFC Bournemouth fans made the LONGEST trip of the Premier League to face Newcastle at St James Park. Andoni Iraola's Cherries hammered the Magpies in a phenomenal performance which saw them score FOUR, three of them coming from Justin Kluivert - his second hattrick of the season. We know the Cherries have had some big results in their recent history, but is that the best of the lot? We think it is, given the context of having the bare bones of a squad, with kids on the bench and Daniel Jebbison being the only senior outfield player outside of the eleven. Plus, on the pitch, Cherries had no right back - with our centre-midfielder deputising, no striker - with our winger plying his trade there, and add to that, the worrying form of Newcastle - who had won nine in a row, much of it inspired by the most in form striker in world football, as well as a powerful midfield that would be the envy of many Premier League sides. And Cherries beat them. But it wasn’t a tight 1-0. We battered them. And it could have been worse for the Magpies. Sam and Tom go over the events of the day.     Some Newcastle Fans Probably Feel A Bit Silly Right Now

    Former AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe had a shaky start to the season, and some Magpies fans were questioning his future, but with NINE wins in a row, one foot in the Carabao Cup final, and sitting pretty in the Premier League table - it's fair to say that Tyneside is now United behind Eddie and co. With Bournemouth awaiting this weekend, they can make it ten in all competitions, and they'll fancy their chances with the current state of Andoni Iraola's squad. Bournemouth are THREADBARE, and with James Hill being the latest casualty, Cherries are in their worst injury predicament that they've ever had in the top flight, but with a siege mentality comes galvanisation - so can Boscombe perform a miracle in the North East?     Chelsea See Red. Should Bournemouth Have?

    Chelsea's dramatic draw with AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday was littered with contentious issues, leaving fans from BOTH sets of fanbases flabbergasted by actions, of lack of, by referee Rob Jones. David Brooks's coming together with Marc Cucurella left Blues fans reeling, but at the other end, the build up to the late equaliser sparked a debate about a rule that NO-ONE seems to know, not least the officials.     Why Everton Fans "ASPIRE" To Be Like Bournemouth

    Bournemouth started the New Year in style on Saturday against a terrible Toffees. A number of Cherries fans were expecting the Cherries to steamroll Sean Dyche’s side, but true to form, Everton were purposeful and pragmatic. With 11 men in blue behind the ball and seemingly little drive to go and win the game, it was always going to be a scrappy affair, with something special required to win the points, but thanks to a delightful David Books volley, three points eventually came to fruition for Andoni Iraola’s men, who remain seventh in the Premier League. Sam and Tom are at the QP to discuss the weekend's game where we question Everton's immediate future. Does their current plight mirror the situation at Dean Court a couple of years ago?     Sean Dyche Knows What Andoni Iraola HATES

    Under Sean Dyche, Everton have a canny way of making it very difficult for Bournemouth. Whilst their league position is lowly, they have a habit of playing in a way that Andoni Iraola has often found hard to combat, so whilst form and history might tell you the Cherries should chew up and spit out the Toffees, the reality is that Saturday's match at Dean Court will be far from academic. This season, the Toffees OUTPLAYED Boscombe for 86 minutes, and even last season, they spanked us at their place with only an own goal gifting Bournemouth the points at Dean Court - so how can Iraola overcome the customary exasperation with Everton?     2024 was a record breaking season for AFC Bournemouth with last gasp goals, insane comebacks, securing our highest ever points tally, mad shirt sponsorships, the women’s team smashing it, beating United AGAIN, smashing Arsenal, surprising City, and a training ground nearly finished. Despite a draw with Fulham on the last calendar game of the year, Sam, Neil and Tom are the the QP with the last show of the year - fully under the impression that Andoni Iraola is not finished, and that 2025 could be even better.
