Was it a skilled climber in an advanced suit—or something else entirely?🔹 The Burney Creek Shadow (California, 1984) Two teenage cousins set out for a day of trout fishing, wandering deep into the backwoods of Burney, California. As the sun sets and they begin their trek home, a sound in the brush sends them sprinting for safety. But just as they reach the gravel road leading back to town, they come face-to-face with the thing that had been following them—a massive, hair-covered figure standing at the creek’s edge, watching them in eerie silence.🔹 Lemmon Valley’s Silent Watcher (Nevada, 1972) Three young boys explore the dry washes of Lemmon Valley, Nevada, searching for arrowheads and hidden treasures of the past. But when one of them suddenly feels the atmosphere shift, he turns to see an eight-foot-tall, black-clad figure staring directly at him. Was it a man? A lost traveler? Or something else entirely? The boys are paralyzed in a 45-second silent standoff before the figure simply turns and vanishes into the wash, leaving behind no trace—except an unsettling, unforgettable memory.🔹 The Sierra Nevada Standoff (California, 1984) Two experienced hikers laugh off the warnings of frightened teenagers running down the trail—until they reach a secluded creek and come face-to-face with an intelligent, curious, and undeniably real creature. Tonight, we journey to the untamed wilderness of Alaska—a land of vast tundras, towering mountains, and icy waters—where legendary creatures lurk in the shadows. Our stories come straight from those who have seen the impossible and lived to tell the tale. Strap in as we explore three chilling encounters with Alaska’s mystery beasts—from an eerie roadside meeting with a Dogman, to the looming presence of the Urayuli, and the deep, dark waters where a sea monster may still be hiding. Story #1: The Dogman of Matanuska Valley Our first story takes place on a lonely Alaskan highway late one October night in 1998. A woman named Melissa H. was driving home through the icy wilderness when she spotted something unusual in her headlights. At first, she thought it was a moose—common enough in these parts—but as she slowed down, she realized this was no ordinary animal. Standing tall on two legs, a wolf-like creature with massive claws and “spiked” fur loomed at the roadside. Its intelligent, glowing eyes locked onto her, and in that brief moment, she knew with absolute certainty—this thing was alive. Not a Halloween prop. Not a bear. Something else. Terrified, she gunned the gas, fishtailing on the ice, but never looking back. Was it a Dogman? A shapeshifter? Or just an exhausted mind playing tricks? Whatever she saw that night, she never forgot it. Story #2: The Urayuli—Alaska’s Own Bigfoot Deep in the southwest corner of the state, near Lake Iliamna, another legend lurks. Called by many names—Arulataq, Bushman, Nant’ina—but most commonly known as the Urayuli, this towering figure is said to be 7 to 14 feet tall, covered in shaggy hair, and armed with freakishly long arms that nearly reach its ankles. Local stories speak of it stealing livestock, raiding campsites, and even swimming through the icy Alaskan waters. While similar to the classic Sasquatch, its eerie glowing red eyes and its ability to vanish without a trace set it apart. In 1982, a hunting guide snapped a blurry photograph of a massive humanoid silhouette standing atop a ridge near Dillingham. Could it have been the Urayuli, watching the land it has called home for centuries? Story #3: The Kodiak Island Sea Monster Alaska’s mysteries don’t just walk the land—they also swim beneath its frigid waves. In 1969, a fishing crew scanning the ocean floor off Kodiak Island made a shocking discovery—a sonar reading of a 200-foot-long creature lying at the bottom of the sea. Its shape? Unmistakably dinosaur-like, with a long neck and fins. Then, in the summer of 1971, a group of fishermen reported seeing a grayish, 30-foot-long beast with a horse-like head swimming near their skiff. One crew member fired a rifle at it, but the creature dived beneath their boat and resurfaced on the other side. And in 2002, a fishing vessel in Uganik Bay had a terrifying close encounter when a massive neck and head emerged from the depths, only to disappear moments later. The following summer, something rammed their boat from below with enough force to nearly knock a man overboard. No whales were in the area. Whatever it was, it was big. Are these encounters proof of ancient creatures, cryptid legends, or something more supernatural? From the shadows of the forests to the icy depths of the sea, Alaska holds mysteries as old as time itself. We examine historical accounts, speak with experts to understand the socio-economic factors at play, and explore whether there's more to the story than mythic creatures. The Dyatlov Pass Tragedy Next, we travel to the snowy slopes of the Ural Mountains in Russia, where nine hikers tragically lost their lives under mysterious circumstances in 1959. Theories about their demise range from avalanches to military experiments, but some insist a Yeti was involved. We dissect the evidence and consider the plausibility of a cryptid encounter.  Pareidolia and Sasquatch Research In our final segment, we revisit an experiment I recently conducted with a photo of a stump that many mistook for a Sasquatch.
