Eye opening for personal growth and societal growth

I first began listening to this podcast because I was exactly as the title says, bad with money. I went from a family tight on money (but acting like we had plenty) to a terribly broke and lost college student to an even more broke grad student to fully employed with massive student loan debt and finally to making a great income with no clue how to apply the earnings I suddenly have. I highly related to Gaby's situation from her timeline to family relations. It was so amazing to have someone like her brave enough to ask the awkward questions I once was afraid to ask. Her bravery inspired me to do the same. After certain episodes, I would immediately act and either call my bank, ask my coworkers what they make, email my financial advisor, review my student loans, etc.

Outside the personal perspective, it was also so enriching to learn more about capitalism in our society. While there isn't immediate action I or any of us can necessarily do, it definitely made me more aware on how to be a resource and open ear for friends and my coworkers. Additionally it made reinvigorated my desire to vote in and and all elections so that we have competent leaders deciding public policy, taxes, and public programs.

Thank you for this podcast!

I Call My Bank For Fun

Listening to Gaby’s phone calls with her bank and credit card company, etc have inspired me to do the same. I just called my credit card company to ask about my interest rate monthly and honestly had an amazing conversation with the woman on the phone. She even gave me advice and taught me about variable interest rates and prime interest rates. I’m finding ways to save money I didn’t know was being taken from me.

Love this podcast!

I love this podcast so much. Gaby always keeps me laughing. This podcast is so relatable and brutally honest about a lot of things that people don’t want to talk about. I don’t always agree with her, but I love her confidence and the many different kinds of people she interviews. I hope we get a lot more seasons!
