S3: Episode 8: The Wounded Knee Massacre

“Looking back at it now, I can see that the times were pregnant of great things. The white man was not standing still. Nothing could deter him from going forward, and if, in the march of civilization, a people was blotted out, it would not be the first time that the same march had proved remorseless.”- James McLaughlin, 1910
“They made us many promises, more than I can remember, but they never kept but one; they promised to take our land, and they took it.” Red Cloud

S3: Episode 6: The Bob Crane Story

S3: Episode 6: The Bob Crane Story

    Requested by @villagedave
“Everybody has a history to his or her life. Let’s not paint Bob’s life by- what shall we say- the moments in his life. I say these things that are the flaws… are like specks on the Parthenon. Let’s look at the Parthenon and let’s not look at the specks. Let’s lift our eyes up to the man’s eyes and should and life, and not look down on the gutter.” -Joe Cosgrove, California radio station owner and announcer and friend to Bob Crane.

    S3: Episode 5: Are You a Witch Pt 2

    S3: Episode 5: Are You a Witch Pt 2

On to the history of witches in the United States!
“What was done in the dark Time of our Troubles from the Invisible World, all honest Men believe, they did in Conscience of the Oath of God upon them, and they followed unto the best of their Understanding, as we are informed, the Precedents of England and Scotland and other Nations on such dark and doleful Occasion. When they found the Matter beyond the Reach of Mortals, they stopt.”

    S3: Episode 4: Are You a Witch? Pt1

    S3: Episode 4: Are You a Witch? Pt1

    Requested by JoAnn Bergman
From our German fairytales that Disney tamed, from classic Greek and Roman literature… from the stories of wicked women who turn herbs and flowers into potions and spells, we get the witches we recognize today. But when fiction is believed as truth, it creates a whole new monster.

Ghost towns, once beacons for the boom of the mining industry, now just lie as time capsules to the past.

Great Story Telling!

I enjoy the way the story is presented, rich on facts and interesting details, but thin on personal opinion or obvious bias. It allows the listener to arrive at their own conclusion. This is the perfect driving podcast!

Addictive

Really enjoy listening to this podcast. Host has a great speaking voice. Love her personality; warm, fun, empathetic, engaging and entertaining. She remains easy to listen to, keeping the focus on the story.

So great.

As I was sitting in an old antiquey restaurant, with the storm raging outside, trees flying around outside, I found comfort in listening to this bag of bones podcast. When I started listening, it’s like the storm stopped as I jumped into the story.
