BATMANLAND 59 - The Entrancing Dr. Cassandra + Minerva, Mayhem and Millionaires

It's a very special BATMAN:AND this week as we mark the conclusion of the Batman TV series. 120 episodes are a lot of BIFFs, BAMs, and POWs. Dan, Nick, and Fiona not only go deep in discussing the final two episodes, but they take some time to consider the series as a whole - the highlights, the many, many lowlights, and much more.

BATMANLAND 57 - The Great Escape + The Great Train Robbery

Yee haw! At BATMANLAND we love to celebrate both types of villains - country and western. So, it's fantastic to see both rolled into one with the return of the cowboy Shame - this time joined by his honeybunch Calamity Jan. While both Dan and Nick have many thoughts regarding the return of Shame, their passion is outmatched by returning BATMANLAND guest Ben Nguyen. An SBS Channel Manager by day, Batman uberfan by night.

BATMANLAND 56 - Nora Clavicle and the Ladies' Crime Club + Penguin's Clean Sweep

Welcome to BATMANLAND, a frank, honest discussion of the 1960s Batman TV show. This week we look at an episode that looks at the subject of feminism through what can only politely be referred to as a 1968 lens and fails badly at it. Dan and Nick try to get a handle on what the show thought it was doing. They then go on to discuss a much better episode showing the return of (and final appearance of) The Penguin.

    BATMANLAND 55 - The Joke's on Catwoman + Louie's Lethal Lilac Time

    BATMANLAND 55 - The Joke's on Catwoman + Louie's Lethal Lilac Time

As we close in on the final episodes of Batman, we are also saying goodbye to some of our favourite characters - like with this week as we see the final episode to feature Catwoman. Eartha Kitt as Catwoman has been fascinating from a 2018 perspective as we see how the treatment of the Catwoman character has changed with the recasting of the role with the African American actress. 1968 wasn't as progressive as we might have liked to have seen, here at BATMANLAND. Also this week, the return of Milton Berle as Louie The Lilac.

Intelligent discussion

I am enjoying this podcast very much. Historical context is given to the show and there is some great trivia made available. As a fan of the original show, I couldn’t be more pleased.

The worst

I just finished listening to this podcast as a true Batman fan I'm extremely insulted. I don't need to hear a bunch of guys insinuating things just to be funny. Most of them did not even know first thing about the series. They even made comments which clearly showed they had never seen most of the shows. A true disgrace.
