608: Cartwheel Capers: a meditation and calming bedtime story

Allie is practicing her cartwheels, but it's harder than she expected. Fortunately, her cousin Alice is there to help her out!

    Narrator: Female

    Story Begins: 4:30

    Cartwheel Capers Excerpt:

It was a bright afternoon on Ahway Island. The birds sang in the sky, chipmunks scurried along the ground, and squirrels scrambled up and down the trees.

Allie O’Leary was playing in her backyard. The pond twinkled in the sunshine and from time to time, a frog splashed in the cool waters. Allie didn’t pay any attention to the frog, or to the fish that blew bubbles in the water. This was unusual for Allie. She loved the pond and the creatures that lived there. But right now, Allie was completely focused on her mission. She couldn’t let the pond distract her.

Allie was practicing her cartwheels. She had just learned how to do one a few days ago in her gymnastics class. Allie had always loved watching other people do cartwheels and had been excited to learn how to do one herself. But in class, Allie was surprised by how difficult it was to do a cartwheel herself.

Today’s Meditation: Relax as you imagine sunlight warming you as you lie in a grassy meadow.

    238. A Polar Pal: a soothing relaxation and kid’s bedtime story

Dragon goes back to land of ice and meets Bianca!

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “A Polar Pal” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

    Narrator: Female

    Story Begins: 9:40

    A Polar Pal Excerpt:

The dragon watched the sun change colors as it settled down for the night.  Having spent the last few nights on the beach, it was now time to go to the land of ice and snow to share thankfulness with Princely, the penguin, and Beau, the beluga whale.  The dragon stepped outside the cave and spread its wings.  The wind lifted the dragon up, up, and up, until the dragon was hovering above the train tracks.  The dragon followed the tracks over to the icy land.  The moon shined down, and the snow shimmered like star dust.  As the dragon landed the snow swirled up, surrounding the dragon in a sparkling white cloud.  Once the snow had settled back down the dragon began searching for Princely and Beau.

Off in the distance the dragon spotted something black hurtling its direction, growing larger and larger.  The dragon smiled, knowing what was about to happen.  Sure enough, a penguin slid right into the large drift next to the dragon, hopped up and shook.  The dragon ducked as snow flew in all directions.  The dragon gave Princely a big hug.  Then Beau popped out of the water, wondering what all the commotion was about.  Happy to see the dragon had returned, the whale spouted a blast of water.

Princely said, “We’ve missed you!”  The dragon nodded indicating that it had missed the penguin and whale as well.

“We have another friend for you to meet.” Beau added.

Today’s Meditation: Imagine floating in a tranquil pool, safe and relaxed, as the water rocks you gently.

606: Hat Adventure: a relaxation and story for your nap time routine

606: Hat Adventure: a relaxation and story for your nap time routine

When Britney and Alma Raincoat walk to Grammy's house in the rain and wind, Halima Hat has an adventure of her own.

    Narrator: Male

    Story Begins: 4:47

    Hat Adventure Excerpt:

Halima Hat nestled cozily in her spot on her favorite shelf. The little yellow rain hat lived with her little girl, Britney, and usually stayed in Britney’s bedroom when she wasn’t being worn on Britney’s head. Britney was generally supposed to put Halima away in the bedroom closet, but sometimes she was in a hurry and put Halima in the drawer full of gloves or hung Britney on the hook on the back of the bedroom door. One time, Britney put Halima away in the hall closet with Alma Raincoat and the winter coats. That had been an interesting day for the little rain hat, and she had enjoyed chatting with Alma. But usually, Halima was happy to stay in her cozy top shelf in Britney’s bedroom closet, and that’s where she was today.

The top shelf was Halima’s favorite place because she could look down and see everything below her, and because it kept her near the roof of the house. Being near the roof helped Halima hear if it was raining outside. And if it was raining, Halima knew there was a chance that she could go outside and help protect Britney’s hair from wind and rain.

Today’s Meditation: Imagine floating on a cloud, and relax into the feeling of lightness.

    237. Vacation!: a relaxing story and meditation for kids

While playing on the beach, Max and Mia learn that they need to think about how other people feel while playing.

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Vacation!” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

    Narrator: Male

    Story Begins: 9:13

    Vacation! Excerpt:

Sunshine slipped through the drapes and warmed Max’s face.  He opened his eyes, smiled and took a deep dragon breath in and out, enjoying the scent of the fresh sea air. Then Max hopped out of bed and woke his sister, saying, “Let’s go! The sooner we have breakfast, the sooner we can play on the beach.”  Mia yawned and hopped out of bed.  She was eager to play on the beach too.

After they finished breakfast, Max picked up a blue sand bucket and suggested, “Let’s build a sand castle!”  Mia responded with “OK.”  And together Max and Mia began to build.  At first Mia was excited to be part of the project.  Then she noticed that Max seemed to be more and more involved.  He was so busy with every last detail of the castle that he didn’t seem to notice his little sister.  Mia listened to the waves as they rolled in and out. The crash of the water as it poured onto the sand called to her. Mia decided to go play in the water.  She noticed Max wasn’t using the sand bucket and grinned mischievously.

Mia picked up the sand bucket and ran into the waves.  Max focused on every little detail of his sturdy castle.  He smoothed the walls and began to dig a moat.

604: Rainy Ramble: a calming meditation and story for kids

Alma Raincoat is ready to spend some fun time in the rain...but one of her buttons is missing!

    Narrator: Female

    Story Begins: 4:31

    Rainy Ramble Excerpt:

It was a rainy day on Ahway Island. The pretty green trees had friendly rain drops on their leaves that gently slipped onto the grass. Everyone on Ahway Island was spending a great day inside. All except Alma Raincoat who was ready to go out into the warm rain and have some fun! Alma loved playing in the rain with her owner, Britney. But today was extra special, Alma and Britney were going to visit Britney’s grandma.

Today was extra-special: Alma and Britney were going to visit Britney’s Grandma, who everyone affectionately called “Grammy.” Alma couldn’t contain her excitement. It had been quite some time since it rained on Ahway Island. Alma loved the sunshine too but the rain was always her favorite. The rain drops made funny sounds when Alma was over Britney’s shoulders. The rain also helped make all of the pretty flowers grow in the spring. Alma’s bright yellow color made it easy for everyone to see where she and Britney were. When it rained, Alma’s bright yellow made her feel like she was Ahway Island’s sunshine for the day.

Today’s Meditation: Love flows through you in this meditation as you imagine a baby fawn and mama deer.

    235. Playful Plow: a relaxing story and mindful relaxation

    235. Playful Plow: a relaxing story and mindful relaxation

Sidney Snow Plow has a big day clearing snow, and still makes time to say hi to their friends!

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Playful Plow” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

    Narrator: Male

    Story Begins: 7:26

    Playful Plow Excerpt:

Light slipped through the cracks in the garage door.  Sidney the snow plow could see a bit of white and wondered whether he would be going out today.  He had his answer when his driver came into the garage and brushed some big fluffy flakes off of her shoulders and hat.  “Let’s get going.” She said.  “If we start now, we should be able to keep the roads nice and clear.”  Well that answered that. The garage door rolled up and Sidney’s engine rumbled as the driver turned the key.

Sidney blinked. It was so bright.  The light reflected off the fluffy flakes as they swirled their way down to the ground.  Before the snow plow’s eyes the world was changing to white.   Sidney slowly drove out of the garage and into the falling snow.  Sidney dropped the plow and began moving the snow.  As he approached the resting snow it began to swirl around on the pavement, sensing the coming plow.

When Sidney moved the snow, he could see it flowing off to the side of the road, like it was supposed to, but he could barely feel it.  It was as if Sidney was moving air!

Today’s Meditation: Relax in the grass as you imagine sunlight warming you from head to toe.

This is a great pod. For people who have trouble sleeping, here are some suggestions(proof listen before introducing to children just in case. Everyone’s standards are different!) Sleep with me, the empty bowl, little stories for tiny people, and be calm on away island. I listen to all. So sit back, and(hopefully) enjoy quicker, eusier, and deeper sleep. Sleep well!😊😴
