At MLB.com from January 2013 through January 2018, she established herself as an authority on baseball fitness and injuries and appeared frequently on MLB Network to discuss her stories. From 1999 through 2012, she was a senior writer for ESPN Magazine, covering primarily ice hockey, tennis, baseball, and the Olympics. Lindsay received her undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she played varsity softball and men’s club ice hockey. She is the oldest grandchild of Yogi and Carmen Berra and is a board member at the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center in Little Falls, NJ” (lindsayberra.com).

    In this episode of Behind The Lens with Roger Rojas, we have Mikey Taylor, Mikey is the current President and Managing principal of Commune Capital, a private equity real estate investment firm. A serial entrepreneur at heart, he first found success with nearly two decades of professional skateboarding. 



    Throughout his career, Mikey held lucrative sponsorship contracts with DC Shoe Co., GoPro Cameras, and Alien Workshop. Over his tenure, he had over 100 signature skateboard decks, 7 pro model shoes, and was one of the most recognizable pro skateboarders on the planet. Not one to rest on his laurels, early in his career, Mr. Taylor was already thinking about life after skateboarding. What’s next was the co-founding and eventual launch of Saint Archer Brewing Company. This San Diego based craft beer company and its first of its kind business model led to quick success and a multi-million dollar purchase by MillerCoors Company in 2015.

    Since then, Mr. Taylor has been busy, co-founding Sovrn Skateboards, Avni Intelligence (an entrepreneur education platform and podcast), and most importantly Commune Capital. Armed with only high school education, but more than a lifetime of real-world experience, Mr. Taylor is committed to assisting the next generation to define the new American dream.

    Born and raised in Southern California, Mr. Taylor resides in Thousand Oaks, with his wife Jen and their two young daughters.

    In this episode of Behind The Lens with Roger Rojas, we have Beau Whitman. Beau is a personal trainer in New York City for the past 5 years, specializing in fundamental foundational training. He also has a background in gymnastics, the division 1 track athlete and a college coach at New York University. 

    Before becoming a personal trainer, Beau is a pole vaulter in a track team as well as an animator when he started his journey in New York City. But six months after, due to the enormous good feedbacks from the people he had around he decided to focus on working as a personal trainer.

    Beau had crashed into one of the biggest nightmares he had when he was diagnosed for stage III Germ Cell Cancer but he completely defeated that adversary this past year.

    During this episode, we discuss adversity, mindset, and his personal experience with defeating cancer. I promise you this one will motivate you to go out there and live your life with purpose.
