MAN up! Boys don't cry! Stop being a p***y! What, are you gay? Have you ever heard these phrases hurled at you?
Have you ever felt like you didn't quite fit into society's masculine expectations and what it means to "be a man"?
These masculinity norms do more harm than good and hold you back from being your true self and living your best life.
Being manly isn't about fitting in with your culture's expectations, it's about standing out with your authenticity.
Being emotional, kind and empathetic isn't feminine, it's human.
It takes a ton more courage to stand up and say "this is me" than it does to just fall in line and be the man they said you SHOULD be.
Join us as we discuss these outdated and damaging expectations by expressing ourselves with honesty, courage and vulnerability.
We'll go behind the masks we all wear and show the world what being a man truly is.
If you're a man that's been holding yourself back from your greatness because it's not "manly", this podcast is for you.
Christian Lopez is a former professional athlete turned confidence coach and motivational speaker who has battled his own fears, failures and insecurities and is on a mission to help others do the same and live their truest, best lives.

Identity - Who Are You? *Mobile Episode*

Identity - Who Are You? *Mobile Episode*

Who are you? No. Who are you, really? Deep down?
When someone asks you to tell them about yourself, what's the first thing you go to?
For me, it was baseball. "Hi, my name is Christian, I'm a professional baseball player." I took pride in it.
But, that career didn't last forever. It's 7 years in the past.
When I lost it, I lost who I was. I lost purpose, I lost meaning. Without a baseball in my hand, I felt like a nobody.
Join me as I discuss this loss of identity and the journey to rediscover it.

Growing Up Cuban with Jorge Emanuel Berrios

Growing Up Cuban with Jorge Emanuel Berrios

    "No llores, tu eres hombre!"
This is one of the many phrases that my guest and I both heard growing up in Miami, Florida, where the majority of people are Latino, mostly Cuban.
My guest is Jorge Emanuel Berrios, an actor, comedian and writer who now resides in Los Angeles.
Join us as we discuss how growing up in such a culture shaped the men we are today, and how we've worked hard to break free of those limiting expectations to become the men we were born to be, not the men they told us we should be.

Forget Six-Pack Abs, Emotional Intelligence Is The New Sexy with Victor Ung

How in touch with your emotions are you?
As men, we do many things to try to win the favor of others.
We workout, drive fancy cars, pay for expensive dinners, exhibit our dominance in sports.
But none of these things go deep. They don't communicate who we truly are deep down.
To go deeper we need to enhance our emotional intelligence.
Join me as I sit down with Victor Ung, a self-proclaimed emotionally stunted dude who's using his brand, Human Up, to help us navigate this modern, technological age.

Why Gay Men May Be MORE Masculine Than Straight Men with Harry Lopez

When we think of the ideal man, or when the archetypal man is pictured in media, it's hardly, if ever, a gay man.
    Why?
Join me as I sit down with Harry Lopez and discuss how masculine expectations not only negatively impact straight, heterosexual men, but gay men as well--probably more so.
Harry is a professional Success Coach and Consciousness Expert who has coached and consulted leaders at Google, Amazon, Facebook and many other big companies.

Very Authentic

I’m a 21 years old college student, I don’t have that much time to listen to podcast but this one is one I always make time to hear. He dives deep into the topics and takes you on a journey with his experience.

An invaluable podcast for men!

Christian brings amazing energy, courage and authenticity to his new podcast. I am so psyched that he is doing this. He is the kind of man we need out there in this day and age - one who is strong and masculine AND growth-oriented, working on evolving to be the best possible version of himself. Do yourself a favor- download, listen, subscribe, rate and review. Let’s help him get the word out!
