Behold Part 1: Being bold and taking part in the miracle Courageous Conversations

    • Christianity

Join Steve and Sarah in this four-part series to BEHOLD different things around Jesus’ birth. The word “behold” appears 134 times in the New Testament.
Today we are looking at the first three times we see it in Luke 1:34-35; 1:38, and 1:48. Between Gabriel’s command for Mary to behold Jesus and Mary’s adamant exclamation that She will, because she understands who He is, this story is filled with awe and wonder, and the point is— Jesus is coming, and His rule will never end. Whether in suffering or celebration, He is always and will always be on the throne. And because Mary knows whom He is, and has pledged her allegiance to Him, she fully expects her life to be blessed, and for every generation after her to know her as such. Mary said yes to carrying this savior of the world and she’s not going to renege on this. No matter the cost, she is standing her ground in Christ.
