A few blips to an otherwise stellar podcast

Religion News Service enters the podcast game with the voice-of-God host, Dr. William Baker. The conversations are intelligent, focused and contains no bias in its reporting. The podcast wisely starts its first episode with a conversation with RNS’s editor-in-chief about the need for religion journalism and the following episodes faithfully execute its mission. The format of having the show’s producer recite top RNS headlines and then diving into the conversation is great and should be continued.

There are a few production errors in the podcast, however, that might drive listeners away if not attended to. ONE - the first few episodes of the podcast had the same exact audio of the producer reciting the same headlines. As I said, the format is great but the headlines need to be updated for each new episode as I’m sure the news headlines are different each week. TWO - One of the episodes ends with 6 minutes of silence after Dr. Baker concludes with his voiceover. I don’t know if the same mistakes were made on other podcast formats, but the episode on Apple Podcasts contains the error. Other than that, thank you for your willingness and hard work for this podcast!

Great Show!

So interesting! I’d like to hear more about us non-believers too!!! I mean, don’t live in a formal religion.

Great new podcast

Just stumbled across Beliefs as I was looking for news based religious coverage. This once a week show has only reloaded a few episodes so far but they have been very interesting and despite being an independently produced show the quality is on par w similar casts released by the Times, etc. Guests have been interesting so far and I’m hoping because if it’s independent roots and freedom Beliefs will branch to smaller sects and stories in the faith based communities - expanding its voice past the mainstream and drawing a more diverse demographic of listeners and guests. We will see! In all I’ll be sticking around for a while.
