Interview Series Part 2: Sarah Interviews Laura

The tables are turned, and now Sarah gets to ask Laura some of the same fun (yet revealing) questions, and also adds in some different ones! Laura reveals the inner core of her middle school self, some little known intel on the family pet, her most-eaten meals, her thoughts on the various stages of parenting, and also gets to allocate a theoretical $1M gift. There is an unexpected tangent into science and anthropology that is quite interesting, too!

So helpful

Sara and Laura have such great insights in the arena of balancing work life and home life. They also have a variety of guests on the show, and I usually find those conversations illuminating as well. Good work ladies!!

Only for “upper management”?

Used to love the podcast but finding episodes irrelevant and have unsubscribed.
Started listening to Cal Newport’s podcast Deep work and finding that he is addressing questions from listeners from wider spectrum of careers. Focus of his podcasts is more career oriented but definitely has lot of tips to find balance/ productivity

Unsubscribing

Unsubscribing. Tired of Laura’s lamenting about her dental problems. Does she think that listeners are concerned about that? (Plus, my guess is that, unlike many people, she has great insurance and can well afford that care.) Both podcasters seem tone deaf to the struggles of many people. Most of the good things about the pandemic they described related to their position of privilege-saving money on their taxes, private and “ritzy” schools, new clothes, fancy watch and phones for Laura’s kids, taking a vacation in a hotel, planning for long weekends.
