The Masculine Blueprint - MTP 533

Co-Host GS Youngblood (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/blueprint) For years I've noted how being masculine is in every man's nature, so if we simply relax into it there's not a whole lot of "heavy lifting" involved. But that doesn't change the fact that we as men like to have a plan. My returning guest GS Youngblood has exactly such a plan, which he calls The Masculine Blueprint. First off, we talk about how so many men got confused about this stuff to begin with. So then, what are the three element's of GS's blueprint? Why is the concept of responding vs. reacting so important to your very foundation as a masculine man? And why do so many truly powerful men mess it up? What drives our instincts to constantly want to "get out of trouble" with women? What's the difference between being genuinely "toxic" (or even straight-up crazy) and someone who's needs aren't getting met? And on that note, what are women typically like when their needs aren't getting met? What's the difference in that case between "manning up", being an idiot/jerk and being a simp? Could it possibly be true that the difference between being a husband and parenting is surprisingly thin? And finally, how can you be a man who genuinely changes the world? What can you do RIGHT NOW to improve your relationships with women? Our Favorite On-Screen Relationships - MTP 532

Co-Host Emily McKay (https://scotmckaycoaching.com) It's long overdue, but Emily and I are finally talking about male/female relationship on TV and in movies. There's no better co-host for this, since, well...Emily and I watch more shows together than we do with anyone else, obviously. Given that spaghetti westerns and action/adventure flicks rarely have much to offer as far as dudes and chicks getting together, luckily Emily gets her turn every once in a while at having me sit through one of her "chick flicks". As a dating/relationship specialist, this is where the true "research" is, so I probably don't mind watching them as much as some other guys might.  So here's the deal, skip every rom-com with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore , Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson, or Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan because they all follow the same formula. We also spared you another commentary on either Titanic or The Notebook. Instead, we start off by going after the Taylor Sheridan universe. We cover Rip and Beth from Yellowstone, Spencer and Alex from 1923, and pretty much every interesting couple in Landman. Then we get to: Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake in Friends With Benefits, Brett Goldstein and Juno Temple in Ted Lasso, Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek in Fools Rush In, Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn in Overboard, Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd in Moonlighting, Tom Cruise and Renee Zellweger in Jerry Maguire, and several other "surprise" mentions. Then, we go back to '70s TV with Archie and Edith Bunker and George and Weezy Jefferson. As for our takes on all of these crazy characters, all I can say is expect the unexpected. Got any ideas of your own after listening? Who did we leave out? Making Her Like You More - MTP 531

Co-Host Jonathan Van Viegen (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/choosingus) My first time guest Jonathan Van Viegen is a couples therapist and coach, and author of The Chosen And Cherished Method along with his new book Choosing Us. The topic he suggested is one that doesn't get talked about nearly enough in the world of dating and relationship advice, especially amongst us men. That's being likeable. Now, it seems simple and obvious how important this is to attracting women and building relationships with them, so why is it so often overlooked? What's the best path to becoming a better man that's actually going to lead to women liking you more? (Hint: it's not always so obvious.) Jonathan admits he didn't used to be very likable to his wife. How exactly did he turn that ship around? What's the difference between a woman being attracted to you and actually liking you? Is the mental image many men have of "masculinity" actually likable? Here's how and why those two traits don't have to be mutually exclusive. What's one simple habit that makes you more likable immediately, especially to women? Is there a likable way to earn respect? What is the skill many people have lost since COVID that makes them far harder to like? It has been said that attraction isn't a choice. Is liking someone a choice? What's the hard truth about likability that everyone should learn...especially if they want to stand out in a crowd? On the other hand, why are needy people pleasers so unlikable? And finally, what's the one question men should write down and ask themselves over and over? The website has just been updated with new, cool stuff: https://mountaintoppodcast.com === HELP US SEND THE MESSAGE TO GREAT MEN EVERYWHERE === This show is built on the "Big Four": Confidence, Masculinity, Liking Women, and Good Character. Flirting Is Supposed To Be Fun - MTP 530

Co-Host Cora Boyd (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/cora) One of the biggest stumbling blocks for men is flirting. After all, in our minds it's all about revealing sexual (or at least non-platonic) interest in a woman, and rumor has it that sort of thing is flat-out dangerous in today's world. Well, my first-time guest Cora Boyd is the host of Pillow Talk Radio and heads up Magnetics Love School. To say she's the perfect guest to clear up any confusion or frustration about this topic is an understatement. Just when so many guys are cynical enough to go "redpilled" and swear off women, along comes Cora to restore hope in female humanity. Right out of the gate, Cora proves she knows exactly what we as men are feeling--and facing--out there nowadays when it comes to flirting. She not only knows what is going on, she knows why, and she's all about empowering you to flirt with women they way they crave being flirted with. So, what is Cora's take on "establishing normalcy" when meeting a woman for the first time? Why do we as men really shy away from flirting with women? And how do we clear up our psychology so flirting really does become as fun for us as it is for most women? How can we master the male/female vibe when interacting with a woman? Why does trying to come up with the perfect move or the perfect line always seem to backfire? What are "flirting flavors"? What should men do instead of trying to "close the deal" with women? And what is there to be said for improving your entire social outlook--and your social life with it--as a direct way to get comfortable with, and therefore better at flirting? What encouragement does Cora have for men who are still cynical about all of this? And what if flirting is actually an act of service toward women? The newly-refreshed website features lots of free goodies: https://mountaintoppodcast.com === HELP US SEND THE MESSAGE TO GREAT MEN EVERYWHERE === This show is built on the "Big Four": Confidence, Masculinity, Liking Women, and Good Character. Better men get better women. If you love what you hear, please rate the show on the service you subscribed to it on (takes one second) and leave a review.
