Between Us: A Psychotherapy Podcast

I love how approachable but well-researched, smart and insightful this show is. I’ve taken a lot of lessons away from each episode and it has influenced side-bar deep dives into things I wanted to learn more about. Thank you for creating and putting (what I’m sure is) so much work into it!

I love this podcast. This is the only podcast I know that discusses therapy using the language that resonates with me. The host and all his guests view their clients with curiosity, openness, and deep respect, which is hard to find outside of psychoanalytic therapy (okay, okay, there might be a couple more modalities). If you are tired of therapists talking about their patients’ “dysfunctional behaviors” or “symptoms,” you will like the tone of this show. Every episode feels like an intimate conversation between two people - not a simple exchange of opinions or showcase of expertise. The tone of this show is a great reflection of what psychoanalytic work feels like.

I learn so much from the interviews, topics and general style. I’m a therapist and this is the podcast I’m frequently sending to my peers. Knowing the creators have an appreciation for art & music, as evidenced by the score and film cuts, provides significant context for the clinical conversations, as well as my trust in them. Thank you for such thoughtful episodes!
