Awesome Podcast

Beyond the Hype is great. Here’s the three reasons 1) Josh and Matt work well together. They compliment each other and totally different in their approach. 2) Finding gold nuggets are so easy because they combine ( rightfully so) their blog and illustrate the topics they are speaking about very well on the blog 3) Their products are beyond good. This podcast fills like additional content. They over delivered with FBUncovered. Funny thing is I also brought the Fiverr product ( And I have no plans to follow though ). I was impressed and willing to endorse these guys 100%.

Good but...

I really hate that I can’t rate 4 and a half stars on iTunes. There really isn’t anything I’d rate a full five stars if I could, for instance, be 100% honest and say “that was a 4.6, or this is worth 4.3 stars, because of this” — maybe I’m ocd or something. It just doesn’t feel right to not give my exact number that I’d rate it.

That said, it was easy to round up to 5 stars because Matt and Josh and their brilliant podcast Beyond the Hype deserve it. I don’t like being addicted to anything, but at least this is a good addiction — I’ve learned a lot, and even when I’m doing something else I keep their podcasts on in the background so I can learn more about branding, podcasting, and good business practices in general. Killing two birds is what it is-

-I work out, I listen and learn.

-I bathe, I listen and learn.

-I make sweet sweaty love with my sexy wife, while I listen and learn.

Okay that last one isn’t true. Gross.

So my honest and exact rating, should iTunes have the ability, would be 4.7. I take off .3 points because I’m an introvert, and apparently, we introverts like to get tunnel vision and dig deeper than most into the specifics of a single subject. That is, when I research, say, how to write — I can’t watch a youtube video titled “how to write”. I need to drill deep. So I watch “how to write a mesmerizing title”, then I watch “the anatomy of a hypnotic lead”, and “8 ways to use imagery”, and “poetic rhythm for the nonfiction writer”, etc.

Takes more time, but for my strange bird of a brain, very necessary.

So yeah, I’d recommend this podcast above most, but if you’re an introvert who likes to get straight to the point and dig deeper than the more sane individuals out there, I warn you — these guys talk like extroverts, which is actually very fun, but that’s what you need to expect — fun, some conversational rambling, and a ton of valuable info that comes in a conversational package — NOT a traditional lecture sort of model that some people learn best from.

Really Enjoying This Podcast!

I have to say that I can;’t get enough of Josh and Matt’s podcast. I love how candid they are and how conversational the podcast is. Even if they aren’t talking about marketing methods, it’s been both fascinating and entertaining. Love the Mike Fulsome and Casey Zeman episodes. Got a few more to catch up and looking forward to getting into my car ride home tonight to to do. I highly recommend you subscribe. And by the way, when they do get not marketing there are so many great takeaways. The Branding episode was a really good one for great nuggets.
