Episode 114: The Art Story Through My Story
Each month I dedicate one episode of an excerpt of a book I am writing. Writing is the vehicle I want to use; to bring into my reader the ways art has transported me and shaped me into the woman I want to be, and into the life I want to live. My hope is for you to be open to the ways art can shape and bring meaning to your life.
The excerpt I highlight is from the chapter "Louise Nevelson: Head Wraps and Scarves."

Episode 113: Peter Bustin: The Human Figure-Flesh on Canvas
Artist Peter Bustin loves to "paint humans." He sees beauty in all people and he encapsulates that love and admiration through layers of paint like a sculptor forming a figure in clay.
I came to know Peter and his work through this show. Join me and learn why I broke with my show's tradition of celebrating women artists, to celebrate a male one. :)
This episode includes a conversation with Peter. Follow him @peterbustinartist on Instagram. To see the images discussed and resources for this episode, please got to beyondthepaint.net.

Bernadine is a pleasure to talk to! Not only is she knowledgeable, she also has an incredible ability to connect the feature artist’s work with art history and art movements.
I highly appreciate her generous and thoughtful immersion into my art and the art of every woman she has presented in her fascinating podcasts. Her passion for what she does is evident in her beautifully crafted story telling and also in her advocacy of women‘s contemporary art!
Bernadine is awesome! I loved doing a podcast with her! As a contemporary artist, I am so appreciative
of her recognition and generosity towards women artists and how she makes it possible for us to be noticed and appreciated! Thank you for that!
A wonderful podcast that provides valuable insights into paintings both well known and unknown (at least to me). It’s so rare that artists who are women get their due, and it is fantastic to hear them celebrated as they should be. Also, Bernadine’s voice is like butter. I could listen to her talk about anything for hours. The fact that she has put out this many episodes is an incredible feat and speaks to the hard work and passion she puts into each episode.
