Welcome to the launch of an exciting new series we're putting together under the Beyond the Profile umbrella - Side Hustle Series (SHS)! We look to interview people who are currently making efforts to go hard on their side hustle in hopes to create it into a full time job.
Today's Side Hustle Spotlight is on Ryan Dunn, a podcaster for Destination: Different and founder of the newsletter, Strange Brains! We dive deep into his side hustle and love for creating content that'll make you want to stay weird. He interviews creators, entrepreneurs, adventurists, and everyone in between. We talk through his creation of the podcast, how he utilizes marketing techniques from his full time job to create all sorts of content, the grind that goes into running a podcast (from booking, recording, editing, marketing, etc.), and where he's found this love and drive to keep going with this show when in reality sponsors are not all storming to his front door...yet.
Beyond the Profile is a podcast where we discuss hard-hitting career stories with professionals of all ages. We’re looking to get into the nitty gritty when it comes to breaking down our guests' career paths, why did they choose the industry/company they work for, where did their passions come from, and what are they looking to do to make a difference in the future for the work they’re involved in. This is a chance for all of us to learn and potentially implement how these guests go about their business, decision-making, and ultimately how they found a love for their craft.
