Our guest this week, Dr Eben Alexander is author of the book ‘Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Afterlife’, which was on the New York Times Best Seller list for 97 weeks. He has been featured widely in the media and across a range of communities, having presented at hundreds of lectures around the world in churches, hospitals, medical schools, and academic symposia, as well as appearing on TV shows including Super Soul Sunday with Oprah Winfrey.
In this episode, Dr. Alexander speaks to Rabbi Iggy about his personal experience with out of body and near-death experience (NDE), which he experienced while in a meningitis-induced coma in 2008.
Their conversation about consciousness, its nature and reality, and the lessons we can learn from moments of almost crossing over, provokes many inquiries about our values, our connections and our world.
