Best of BAM: Death Has Been Defeated, and Q&A

Best of BAM: Death Has Been Defeated, and Q&A

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank shares his thoughts on the armor of God as it relates to death. The breastplate of righteousness can be considered a spiritual heart protector, but the helmet of salvation is a spiritual head protector that covers our minds in spiritual warfare and blunts the blow of death. Although cultural thanatologists may encourage us to accept death as a friend, Christian theology sees death as the enemy. This message radiates from the lips of Job who experienced not only the death of his livestock but of his children as well. Yet with an eternal perspective, he said, “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God" (Job 19:25-26 ESV). In Christianity, death has been defeated through the resurrection of Jesus, and we know that God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep.

Hank also answers the following questions:

Can you define the belt of truth and the sword of the Spirit mentioned in Ephesians chapter 6?
Does predestination mean that only a certain number of people will be saved, or can everyone call on Jesus and be saved?
How do we know the Old Testament is not just ordinary history; how do we know God was really speaking to them?
What are those who have died and gone to be with the Lord doing in heaven?
    How important is church attendance?

The Dangers of Recreational Marijuana, and Q&A

The Dangers of Recreational Marijuana, and Q&A

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (11/26/21), Hank discusses America’s continued downward spiral. Currently, a total of eighteen states approve the recreational use of marijuana. The number of adults using marijuana doubled in the span of three years despite research showing that it weakens heart muscles and causes detectable alterations in the chemistry of the brain. Marijuana is not as benign as many think. There are also spiritual dangers associated with it, and it is used in the worship and spirituality of many religions around the world. The truth is, when people smoke or eat pot, there is no objective way to control the dosages. While the Bible doesn’t specifically address marijuana, the injunction against intoxication still applies.

Hank also answers the following questions:

In a liberal college atmosphere, what would be your advice for being honest about your faith without offending people?
How is the use of marijuana different than alcohol or caffeine?
I’m reading through the Bible and analyzing everything; what is your view on interpreting it literally or figuratively?

    Thanksgiving—A Daily Manner of Life

    Thanksgiving—A Daily Manner of Life

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (11/25/21), Hank encourages all that are listening in to enjoy their time on Thanksgiving Day with family and friends to the extent that they can. Thanksgiving is a day that Hank looks forward to every year. Yet Thanksgiving is not just a day; it is a daily manner of life. It is a key that opens the gate of Christ and allows Christians to enter and gain access to all His wonderful provisions and even more profoundly into all the splendor of His Being. “Open for me the gates of the righteous,” wrote the Psalmist, “and I will enter and give thanks to the Lord. I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation.” In the Wisdom of Solomon, we read that “the hope of an unthankful man will melt like the wintry frost and flow away like useless water.” Thus, we are exhorted to arise each morning and thank our heavenly Father for the abundance of His mercies, for the blessing of the Lord will melt like ice—evaporate like worthless water—at the appearance of the first rays of sunshine.

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (11/24/21), Hank answers the following questions:

When we pray, should we only address the Father and not pray to Jesus?
Were all those who perished in the flood bad people? What about the children and babies?
How can I help my son who is struggling with pornography? Could this be a generational curse?
Is Isaiah 7:14 referring to the virgin birth of Christ or someone else?

Countering Buddhism with Christianity, and Q&A

Countering Buddhism with Christianity, and Q&A

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (11/23/21), Hank shares about his travels to Singapore and Cambodia, and the suffering he saw there, including the Khmer Rouge Killing Fields. Cambodia was once a prosperous country, but it has gone from a first-world country to a third-world country. This underscores what Lee Kuan Yew, first Prime Minister of Singapore, said: that all civilization is essentially fragile. The social experiment of Pol Pot led to the deaths of millions of people and is a sobering reminder that ideas have consequences. Cambodia’s culture is largely Buddhist, which is a religion that cannot offer hope. Buddhism teaches that all life is suffering, and the source of suffering is desire. Eliminating desire and attaining Nirvana is done through the eightfold path. In contrast to this, The Christian Research Institute has the unique opportunity to reach people around the world with the truth of Christianity.

Hank also answers the following questions:

How can I understand the idea of being absent from the body and present with the Lord, when the Bible talks about the dead rising first at the resurrection?
When the Lord appeared to people in the Old Testament, was that a pre-incarnate appearance of Jesus?
Is Malachi chapter 3 teaching that if I don’t tithe, I’ll be under a curse?

What do you think about passages of Scripture that make belief in the Trinity difficult?
Can you address the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ interpretation of Proverbs 8:22 regarding Jesus?
Can you comment on Hebrews chapter 2 and the warning against falling away? Is this a warning to Jews?
Is a marriage considered legitimate without a state license? What qualifies a couple to be married in the eyes of God?
What is your interpretation of Luke 20:41-44?
Which temple is being referenced in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2?

My heart is broken

Listening to Hank tie himself into knots over his new religion, he now “venerates “ Mary as a perpetual virgin ignoring the plan teaching of scripture. The very thing he fought against for so many year, years I personally learned the same, and from this very man. More and more commercials, reformatting the podcast under the same name all point to one thing- the end of the Bible answer man program is slowly and regrettably on the horizon... my heart is broken.
