Truth Seekers: Bible Stories for Kids is a podcast for children (and adults) of all ages that journeys through the stories of the Bible. My name is Sherilyn Grant, and I am the host of the podcast. We start our way at the very beginning and walk our way through the Old and New Testament. The mission of the podcast is to help children see the individual stories of the Bible as part of one large story that reveals God's redemptive plan to rescue and restore us back to Himself. I pray that through the telling and reading of God's Word, you and your family will understand more clearly God's plan for salvation, His deep love for us, and how we can apply His truth to our lives. #206: The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard (The Kingdom of God is Full of Grace)

Matthew 20:1-16. Jesus gave many parables that teach us what the kingdom of God is like. In this parable, we see how God is so gracious to extend His invitation of eternal life to those who put their faith in Jesus even up until the last hour of their life. God gives generously to all who would accept His Son as their Lord and Savior. Receive His invitation while it's still called Today. Even when we think we've messed up, or it's too late for us, God is extending His invitation to receive His gift of eternal life through His Son, Jesus.

#205: Praying the Bible (Matthew 5:1-12: The Beatitudes)

Matthew 5:1-12. In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus gave us specific characteristics of those who follow Him and the blessings they would receive. In today's episode, we look at the first three beatitudes and discuss what they mean for us as followers of Jesus. Jesus longs to bless us as we follow Him.

#204: The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant: Forgiving Others

#204: The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant: Forgiving Others

    Matthew 18:21-35.
Jesus told a parable that illustrates what it means to forgive. We sometimes think that we have a right to hold onto unforgiveness when we are wronged, but when we become Christians, we become a part of the Kingdom of God, and forgiveness is the currency of the Kingdom of God. God commands that we forgive others because we have been so graciously forgiven. Who are we to make others repay for their sins against us when we have been released of the debt that we could never repay? This parable speaks of a serious truth for those who choose not to forgive. Unforgiveness blocks our relationship with God our Father, and we cannot move forward as followers of Jesus if we hold unforgiveness in our hearts. The Holy Spirit is able to help us to do this, not in our own strength, but by His power in us, can we forgive others when we are hurt and wronged.

#203: The Rich Young Ruler (Letting go of the worries of this life to follow Jesus)

#203: The Rich Young Ruler (Letting go of the worries of this life to follow Jesus)

Mark 10:13-31. Jesus calls us to surrender our whole lives to follow Him. Are there things you might be putting your faith in other than Jesus? Are there people you are placing as more important than Jesus? If Jesus asked you to choose Him first, would you be able to? The rich young man in the story was not able to give away all he had to follow Jesus. He loved his money too much. Anything that becomes more important than Jesus is an idol, a false god. God commands that we worship Him and Him alone. Are there possible idols in your heart that could be keeping you from fully surrendering to Jesus today? Let Him have everything, and in return He promises eternal life, hope, joy, peace and so much more. What Jesus has to offer is better than anything this world can offer.

#202: Praying the Bible (John 15:1-11: I Am the Vine)

#202: Praying the Bible (John 15:1-11: I Am the Vine)

Vineyards were grown everywhere in Israel during the time of Jesus. When He said, "I am the vine," His followers would have understand what a vine is and does. As the vine, Jesus gives us life. He produces the fruits of His Holy Spirit living in us. Without Him, we cannot bear fruit. He produces the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. As we remain in Him as the vine, He causes us to grow and look more like Him.

    #201: The Good Samaritan

    #201: The Good Samaritan

Luke 10: 25-37. To follow Jesus is to follow Him in faith and action. We reflect Jesus to a hurting and broken world by what we say and do. The parable of The Good Samaritan shows us who our neighbor is. It is anyone who needs us when it is in our power and ability to help them. The Holy Spirit will enable us to love others with mercy and compassion just as Jesus has loved us.
