Bible Study: For Women, By Women, engages women in looking closely at a wide variety of Bible themes and topics. These studies are not centered on typical studies for women. We offer short episodes that look deeply into what scripture actually reports in context on a wide variety of Bible themes. We examine what effect they might have on the lives of women today. Frequent references to additional study materials provide guidance to those who wish to dive deeper.

Episode 22 Abram Under the Trees of Mamre and the Tree of Hagar
It is comforting to know that the great patriarch, Abraham, had a problem that we are all too familiar with ourselves. He had a hard time waiting on the Lord. He had a hard time trusting that God would be faithful to keep His covenant or His promises. Abraham tried to protect himself. He lied a lot. He tried to enforce his own plans over God's plans with dire results. God's ever-present trees continue to play an important role in His story.

Episode 19 That Other Tree, The Bad One, and the Curses It Brings
Why do we always crave the ONE thing we cannot have? The things that are bad for us. God has provided SO much for us. If something were good for us, wouldn't He tell us to take as much of it as we wish and enjoy it? When we chose to play God and make decisions for ourselves, decisions against God's provision for us, things do not go well. We need to work to stay away from shiny objects so we can live in peace and be trees of blessing to one another.

Edit: I’ve just recently learned (finally,) how to get Alexa to play this podcast, in sequential order, on my Echo Dot, and that has made a huge difference in the ease of listening, because my iPad is getting old, and keeps crashing on Facebook and on the Podcast App itself.
