Big Bones, Thick Skin

The first episode of this was fantastic. It hot all of the notes for me: fat liberation tied to liberation of all people, intersectional identities, deep conversations about life between two lovely fat folks… please keep it coming. Fantastic work.

"Learning " is like hunting for mushrooms; you might not recognize that there may be something of value to you in territory or terrain you've often traveled but never explored. Such is the case for me here. Bias and unfamiliarity often impels the subtle and unthinking marginalization of those who present as "different." That is a sad road to travel and yet a road I have traveled at a high speed all my life. This podcast opened my mind to the possibility that by slowing down and looking at the scenery I just might learn something of value. Certainly the case for me. I look forward to the next installment ( although Claire Alpern/ Ashlie Atkinson will be a VERY tough act to follow.)
