BigPhatChat is Gordon Goodwin's podcast
Big Phat Chat Episode 13
Gordon talks about recent news, answers fan mail, gives a somewhat self-indulgent yet informative compositional analysis of his Grammy nominated composition "Hunting Wabbits 3" and presents part 2 of his interview with Grammy and Emmy winning composer Patrick Williams. That last bit, that's the good stuff, don't miss it or you are lame! OK, maybe not lame, but you are really going to miss out, put it that way. Recorded 12-22-11.
Big Phat Chat Episode 12
Gordon talks about the production of some new Big Phat Band music videos, his trip to Australia where he played with James Morrison and judged at the Generations in Jazz Festival, and presents part one of his interview with Grammy and Oscar winning composer Patrick Williams. Recorded 11-23-11
Big Phat Chat Episode 11
Gordon grovels and apologizes for the year long delay in producing a new podcast (it's quite pathetic) and presents for your enjoyment the legendary and somewhat underexposed (for a good reason) Big Phat Band Comedy Sketches. Recorded 8-8-11
Big Phat Chat Episode 10
Gordon talks about recording the new BPB record, a surprise party for Sammy Nesitco, and presents part 2 of his interview with the drummer in the Big Phat Band, Bernie Dresel. Recorded 3-19-10
Big Phat Chat Episode 9
Gordon answers some fan mail, plays some music he submitted for a TV theme song, and presents part 1 of his interview with the drummer of the Big Phat Band, Bernie Dresel. Recorded 9-24-09
Big Phat Chat Episode 8
Gordon talks about the recent fire that threatened his house and studio, answers some fan mail and has an in depth conversation with Mark Kibble, founding member of the Grammy winning vocal group Take 6. Recorded 9-27-09
This is so interesting!
Another great podcast!
Thank you Gordon for taking the time to put these together. You are amazing! I look forward to the next podcast! Oh how I wish jazz music would be more popular. I will continue to buy and enjoy the songs you put your heart into! Thank you again!
From one of the best big bands on the scene, if not THE best, the music played is performed incredibly, the interviews are funny and ispirational coming from members of the Phat Band that are all the top musicians in their given fields, and it keeps the music of big bands alive and well. I look forward to the next podcast everytime I hear the most recent episode. A must-have for any jazz/big band enthusiast.
