Welcome back to The Main Thing Podcast! Our special guest, Bill Spitz, is a Founder and Principal of Diversified Trust Company, a privately owned trust company.
Diversified Trust provides investment management, advisory and family office services, trust & estate management and institutional services. 
Previously, Bill held the position of Vice Chancellor for Investments at Vanderbilt Univ. for 22 years. During his tenure, the Vanderbilt Endowment grew from $300 million to $3.5 billion. Bill was also a Clinical Professor of Finance in Vanderbilt’s Owen School of Management. He currently serves as a Director of the MassMutual Financial Group and Acadia Realty. 
He spends his leisure time exercising and has been one of the top amateur ballroom dancers in the U.S., having participated in approximately fifty competitions. Bill and his wife, Sandy, have three daughters and three grandchildren. He joins us today from Nashville, TN.
