The podcasts are pre-class recordings. They are recorded at conversational speed, with the option to pause while note-taking. The best way to use these podcasts is to first view the PowerPoint presentations and take notes, then listen to the podcasts to fill in with examples.
These podcasts were my #1 study resource for an Intro to Human Biology summer course I just completed. The summer session covered an entire semester in 5 weeks so I had little time to fully process all the information. This podcast series was a huge time-saver and study aid. While driving, cooking or relaxing, I was able to listen to the podcast episodes that corresponded with the chapters covered in my class. Ruth Negley's presentations are extremely clear, concise and easy to understand. She breathes some life into the textbook readings. I got an 88% on my first exam, but after finding these podcasts, I've gotten 100% on the subsequent exams. Amazing results!
