Bits & Pieces Podcast #26 - 2019 in Review
And it's over. I don't know if you had noticed but 2019 is officially history. The keen eyed among you probably notice these kinds of events but it took us a whole month to realise and get a podcast out.
In this episode we are going to run through some of the highlight games we played in 2019. George finally played Red Dead Redemption 2, so there is a big bit of chat about that game. Nevi also sings the praises of Sekiro and Hollow Knight. While Gav talks about games that I've forgotten while writing this. If I remember I will add them at the end, if not then that's a nice surprise for you isn't it? -
Bits & Pieces Podcast #25 - 2019 UK Games Expo Special
So it's a little late, but we were faster than last year. At this rate, we'll release a UKGE podcast on time in just 7 years! Anyway... Once again, Nevi and George went off to Birmingham to try a load of board games and on this episode they're reporting back on what they played. It's an episode packed with mild takes on some of 2019's most real board games. Gav is here too and one day he'll probably actually play a board game.
In the episode you'll hear about:
Age of Sigmar Champions,
Undaunted: Normandy
Museums
Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrel: A Board Game of English Magic
One Month Later
On the Underground
Raid on Takao
Imperial Settlers Roll & Write
Smash City
Donning the Purple
The Menace Among Us,
Blood on the Clocktower -
Talkthrough #2 - The Citadel of Chaos
And, Talkthrough is back. It's been what, nearly a year? But here I am, with a Talkthrough of The Citadel of Chaos.
This book added magic and all the additional choices that come with those otherworldly powers. Thankfully, this episode features far less going mad in a cave - I think The Warlock of Firetop Mountain scared me a little.
I now have every intention to continue this podcast series, but I said that last time so I won't make any promises. Anyway, enjoy the Talkthrough and let me know if you've managed to conquer The Citadel of Chaos. -
Bits & Pieces Podcast #24 - 1001 Games
And, we're back again. In episode 24, we are talking a lot about turn-based strategy games including: X-COM 2, Mutant Year Zero, Phoenix Point and something else I've surely forgotten.
George and Gav have also been playing Risk of Rain 2 which sounds excellent. Earlier this month, George also had quite a sleepy time at EGX Rezzed and tells us all the things he played and why he was just so sleepy.
After all the game chat, we make our grand return to quizzing. George has prepared a quiz all about the 1001 games to play before you die. You can join in our outrage as certain games are excluded and insane games are included.
Enjoy! -
Bits & Pieces Podcast #23 - Boardgamisode
Hello and welcome to the wonderful, nay fantastical, boardgamisode.
In this episode, we run through some of the games Nevi played at AireCon 5 such as Solar Storm and The Old Hellfire Club. We also discuss two seminars - From Sketch to Store Shelves and Data Mining BoardGameGeek.

After the AireCon 5 discussion, George tells us about two small box games he's been playing - Decrypto and High Society. And then, Gav shares a story about a time he played DnD.
Once all the chat is over, we play a few rounds of Billionaire Banshee. Feel free to play along, guess whether we'd date these people or maybe you want a date yourself?
Thanks for listening. -
Bits & Pieces Podcast #22 - All Consoles Go to Heaven
And we're back. Did you miss us? I bet you missed us. It's our silky smooth voices, the fact that we can ramble on about video games for hours at a time and how we always end up talking about either The Witcher 3 or Metal Gear Solid V, isn't it?
Well not today. Today we stay roughly on track. Firstly, Gav and George chat about Apex Legends. Secondly, the double G's have an intervention with me (Nevi) about why I keeping buying and owning dead game systems. And nextly, we end with some chat about the new Pokemon Sword and Shield games that will be set on these fair isles - minus Wales.
All in all a good podcast, and if anybody got the podcast name do let me know.
Enjoy!
