As a white women I know that the “missing white women syndrome” very much exists and it’s not fair and not right. Every persons life matters. So often women of color get little to none exposure. I appreciate your podcast so very much. As a person who has been interested in true crime for almost 10 years now I have heard never even heard of most of the cases that you cover. Your heart and passion to bringing attention to those forgotten gives me hope for change and that more women’s lives will be made important, not based on anything but an individual human being period. I also love how you humanize the victim so much true crime coverage is more about ratings, numbers and money. Keep it up you rock and I pray for these women and their loved ones.

Love this podcast but not a fan of the episodes with the husband. He throws off her flow! No disrespect.
Late, But Right on Time

I know the podcast has been around for a few years, but I am a new listener. I saw the podcast pop up from time to time, but was initially hesitant to listen. One because, true crime isn’t my typical genre, and also because I knew the stories would be heavy. I am so happy that I finally pressed play a few months ago. I started from the beginning, and I’m so impressed by how Amara delivers each story. One thing that pushes me away from true crime, is the consumption of real acts of violence against people as entertainment. Amara does a beautiful job of humanizing each victim, giving as much information as she can about who these girls were, and sharing insight into the struggles for justice in many of the cases. It feels like she’s talking to you at a coffee shop over a warm drink, which eases the heaviness of the stories. I am appreciative of her work to give voices to the voiceless, making the seemingly invisible seen, and for the time, effort and sacrifices it takes her to make this all possible. Black girl deserve this attention, and I’m SO glad this podcast exists.
