The C.O.W.S. Neutralizing Workplace Racism 11/27/20

    Friday, November 27th 8:00PM Eastern/ 5:00PM Pacific

The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly forum on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. With the "Thanksgiving" celebration and the accompanying nigra Friday, a lot of non-white people in the U.S. might have a few days away from the plantation. However, 2020 produced a Thanksgiving holiday unlike any other. Many states have instituted a fresh round of lockdowns. Numerous schools and businesses are closed down or limited to virtual contact. After a number C.O.W.S. listeners reported having family members test positive for covid-19, we'll emphasize the importance of taking the virus seriously. Now is not the time to become complacent about safety in the workplace. Also, we'll hear updates from a black worker who asked for advice by a co-worker. Specifically, the colleague reported being "terrorized" by a racist White person. We'll discuss potential hazards of talking about Racism on the job - even with other black people.

The Black woman’s voice has long been overlooked in the medical system. A new film, High Risk: Black Mothers Protecting Themselves and Their Babies, brings light to this topic by exploring Black women’s strategies for taking control of their mental health to produce positive outcomes. The C.O.W.S. Jeffrey Toobin’s The Run of His Life: The People v. O. J. Simpson Part 1

The C.O.W.S. Jeffrey Toobin’s The Run of His Life: The People v. O. J. Simpson Part 1

    Thursday, November 26th 8:00PM Eastern/ 5:00PM Pacific

The Context of White Supremacy hosts the debut study session on Jeffrey Toobin's The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson. This 1996 New York Times bestseller enjoyed two different waves of success. It was critically acclaimed during the initial mid-90's publication, and it found re-newed success following the wildly successful 2016 FX miniseries - which is based on Toobin's work. Toobin enjoyed three glorious decades of journalism, spawned from his coverage of the Simpson trial. He wrote beloved books on the Supreme Court and authored a scathing indictment of President Donald J. Trump. Things were triumphant until the year of the rona. While participating in a live Zoom conference with prominent White journalists, Toobin exposed his penis and began masturbating. He was initially suspended by the New Yorker. After a weeks of investigation, Toobin was fired. We'll keep this in mind while reading Toobin's account of one of the most well documented, most watched court trials of all time.

Love Wins with Ellis and Benita Episode 24: Love v. Lust

Feeling like this is a "throwback" show, we discuss our opinion of the differences between the two.  We've all be there where we felt it was love but it truly wasn't that deep.  It was more of a physical connection that wouldn't hold up in the "tough" times.

Ellis and Benita are relationship experts who share their experiences and opinions on all things love.  Join them each week with fun conversations on various topics related to love, life and relationships.

The Harsh Reality Podcast Presents: Ep.2 (Felecia S. Killings)

Our guest today is the beautiful, outspoken, and powerful Felicia S. Killings. She is a conservative activist, motivational speaker, award-winning coach, and accomplished author. Additionally, she is the driving force behind the growing Conscious Conservatism movement and I am overjoyed that she has graciously accepted my offer to come on the podcast and discuss the principles behind this growing movement and the political landscape in general as it pertains to our community.

    Interview Topics
    • Introduction
    • Explain the ideal, principles, and/or goals of the Conscious Conservative movement
    • The stigma of the concept of “conservatism” in the black/urban community. Was Lyndon B. Johnson correct in his infamous alleged quote on the voting preference of African Americans?
    • Why does the liberal/democrat party seem to have such a stranglehold in the black community?
    • The lack of effective outreach from mainstream conservatives and the Republican Party
    • Are black heterosexual men essentially “homeless” in today’s political landscape? What can be done to capture this demographic?
    • Where do we go politically from here after this election season and this tumultuous year?
    • Wrap Up

Fresh perspective

Say what you want about BTR, but you can’t find another source of news that is coming from a truly black american perspective. As a white person, I’m isolated from this perspective by mass media, so BTR is a truly fresh perspective to me. I would rate 5 stars, but Scotty Ried really needs to upload higher bit rate podcasts. It’s 2016 Scotty, nobody’s on dial-up anymore. Give us some better quality.

Not afraid of tough topics and perspectives

I appreciate you for this podcast! It may not get a lot of recognition, but I am sure ppl are listening. There are not many in media covering these topics or willing to express controversial perspectives. This show is always interesting, thought provoking, well thought out, and good audio. Please keep it up! And I am committed to sharing this work more going forward.
