Every week standup comedian / writer / notorious goofball Kevin Anderson interviews his favorite comedians and any number of Los Angeles' strangest characters or "influential experts."
Learn about the LA comedy scene, the weirdos that inhabit it, the dingy dives they perform in, and the lives they lead in a riotous, mostly improvised hour-or-so session of comedy goodness.
243: Pissin' Like a Racehorse in Church (w/ Erik Barnes & Jon Barr)
Bleak is back, and living up to its moniker quite nicely! Kevin kicks off this episode with some good ol' banter about American frustrations, philosophical dilemmas, and HBO content. Then, comedy folk Erik Barnes (@ErikWBarnes) and Jon Barr (@JonBarrTweets) stop by the podcast to do some Magneto impressions and chat about corporate Megazords and the reopening of Los Angeles. Then, secret agents Fuzz and Scriffles stop by to tell Kevin about some of their high stakes espionage antics and their cover band!
A BIT OF BLEAK: Hatchet Returns / What's Goin' On?
Holy weird Sunday mini-ep, dear Bleakman! This lil' ep starts off with the unwanted return of Man O'Clock, the Hatchet McDaniel podcast, before Kevin hurries him along to let the listener in on what the heck is going on with Bleak in Review and what the heck is going to be happening with it in the future. Plus, a little bit of hip hoppery! Enjoy!
242: Dalmatian Futures (w/ Leah Mansfield & Evan Kessler)
Welcome back to Bleak in Review! In this episode, Kevin explains the unfortunate circumstances that lead to the lack of an episode last week and laments an unnecessary movie franchise. Then, comedian Leah Mansfield (@leahmansfield) returns to the show to chat with Kevin about her quarantine projects, why day drinking is good drinking, and deal with some dog issues. Plus, money man Mark Stockett from the stock market (@EvanJKessler) returns to hip the listener to the hottest new futures of the past in which to invest!
241: Anti-Vaxuming (w/ Whitney Melton, Shannon Estabrook, & Joe Kaye)
Kevin's in a bit of physical pain this week, but have no fear! This week's intro is chock-full of chatter about self-diagnosing and a delightful comedy "cancellation." Then, comedian Whitney Melton (@whitneysmelton) returns to the show to rail against low-flush toilets and the troubles of reentering society. Plus, French tourists Claude (@JoeCharlesKaye) and Dylan McDermott (@shestabrook) join the 'cast to talk about what they're excited to do in California and what weird subjects they teach to children!

Bleak in Review is always a lot of fun. Kevin is a great interviewer who can move between silly and serious topics with guests well. I also revisit episodes of the show for the character segments and for the intros because Kevin and Matt (original cohost) always had hilarious banter.
I hate bed bug but...
I really enjoyed this podcast.
Kevin is a treasure & I’m sorry I didn’t start listening sooner.
Kevin is one of my favorite Unpops co-hosts & I can’t believe it took me this long to listen to his pod. It’s so funny & I’m looking forward to catching up on all of the old eps.
