Cheyenne Sixkiller-Lasiter
Cheyenne Sixkiller-Lasiter is a writer, photographer,Dental Hygiene student and Full time mom. Her photography and writing is focused on nature and Native American history . Her photography work has received honorable mention and published in College literary magazine Crowder Quill. She is the original creator of “In Honor of the Thousands” that pays tribute to the victims, survivors and families of residential schools, it has been published Native Hoop Magazine, Carthage Chronicle, Peoria Newsletter and by Indian Residential School Survivor Society.
A tribal member of the Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma and bloodlines in both Cherokee and Creek tribes. She is pursuing a career in Dental hygiene with intentions of serving as a health care provider in tribal communities and future missionary work as a hygienist among Native American Reservations.

Martha Nunnallee Armitage
Martha Nunnallee Armitage believes in honoring and sharing her culture through her life’s work. From the very beginning of her life, growing up on a working ranch in Cherokee Nation and as a Cherokee woman herself, Martha learned that business and heritage go hand in hand.
After graduating from Oklahoma State University, Martha married Mike Armitage in the winter of 1985, and together they built a successful livestock marketing business while raising two sons. She made a strategic point to instill Cherokee culture into their family life and business. Following Mike’s death in 2020, Martha has kept her ranching business and passion for Indigenous heritage with much to come on the horizon. -
Sarah Elisabeth Sawyer
SARAH ELISABETH SAWYER is a story archaeologist. She digs up shards of past lives, hopes, and truths, and pieces them together for readers today. The Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian honored her as a literary artist through their Artist Leadership Program for her work in preserving Choctaw Trail of Tears stories. She is the creator of the Fiction Writing: American Indians digital course. (americanindians.fictioncourses.com)

Marla Nauni
MARLA NAUNI, Cache, OK

Ms. Marla Nauni obtained her Bachelor’s of Business Administration (BBA) and Master's in Human Relations (MHR), from the University of Oklahoma. In April 2022, she released her 3rd Album titled "Nauni Legacy."
Ms. Nauni's latest Film accomplishments include performing in Apple's "Killers of the Flower Moon" (Film), Bartlesville, OK, which was filmed throughout Osage county, Oklahoma. "Prey" (Film) in Comanche/English Vocals and Lyrics.
Ms. Nauni also starred in OETA's Big Productions documentary, “Back in Time: Osage Murders - The Reign of Terror” (Film), where she played the Lead Role of "Anna Brown", an Osage headright owner who mysteriously disappears in the 1920's. This documentary explored the systematic murders of the Osage from 1910 to 1930 in an organized effort to rob them of their oil and money. This documentary won an Emmy, July 2022.
Ms. Nauni's latest TV accomplishments include performing
"Yellowstone," "Walker" (TV) and
Paramount+ “1883” (TV), "Tulsa King" (TV), and Disney/FX "Reservation Dogs" (TV), Tulsa, OK. She also performed in Paramount’s “Yellowstone” (TV), and performing the English/Comanche Vocals for AMC’s “The Son” (TV), in Los Angeles, CA. In the summers, she performs the Comanche blessing song in the “TEXAS” Outdoor Musical, Palo Duro Canyon State Park, TX.
Ms. Nauni's talents cross boundaries of theatre, music, singing, language, history and culture. She has been involved in researching 1860’s Comanche regalia; assisting with Comanche language translation and spent hours assembling wardrobe to complete actors’ clothing for a film project, “Thistle Creek”. She is set to assist in its final sound track at The Juilliard School in New York City. “Thistle Creek” (Film) premiered in Fort Worth, Texas on December 5, 2020. "Thistle Creek" won "Best Original Score," First Run Film Festival, New York City, NY.
Ms. Nauni is an accomplished Recording Artist, Model, and Actress.

Erin Detherage is a member of the Peoria Tribe of Oklahoma. She is a full-time musician, playing guitar in a variety of music bands and projects. Erin is also a Regional Operations Associate working for and supporting Medical Physicists.

Isabella Clifford is a citizen of the Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma and a Cherokee descendant. She is a private practice therapist at Thrive Counseling Services in Miami. Isabella serves on The Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma Business Committee as Third Councilman (June 2018-present).

So Interesting!
A well done podcast in which interesting native women are interviewed. Great variety and wonderful sound production. Host Jeans Burgess asks insightful questions with just the right amount of her own story mixed in. Highly recommend!
Ground-Breaking but Upholding Colonialism?
It’s nice to here the voices of Indigenous women on the show. It does feel as though many of the voices speaking are speaking to a colonialist narrative. Hearing a woman talking about being a missionary to tribes is neo-colonialism through Christianity. They also talk about blood quantum which is weird. I understand that many of them are white-passing and probably feel that’s how they can prove their indigenous roots, but actions speak louder than words. Maybe talking to more people who are working to decolonize by learning and preserving language, diet, and life ways would actually help folks really get in touch with their indigenous bloodlines. There are many artists, chefs, authors, etc doing the work. Go find them and bring them on.
Fascinating
This podcast is fascinating. So much history linking to the here and now. I’m intrigued by the women’s stories Jeane shares with us in Bloodlines. Being born and raised in Oklahoma, I love learning more about our history.
