Blowin on Games with John and Andy Blowin’ On Games

John and Andy are joined by their good friend Brian of the Six Pack and a Pod podcast. Brian runs them through Super Mario World as they discuss everything from Super Nintendo to 90s Video Game movies to 2000s pop rock and everything in between. If you love wild meandering tangents, you're in for a treat!

Join John and Andy as they take on a divisive title in the Legend of Zelda series: Zelda II - The Adventure of Link. Nintendo's long standing tradition of not giving the fans exactly what they gave them before is on full display with this game. Gone is the totally overhead perspective, replaced by side-scrolling battle scenes that finally revealed Link didn't wear pants. Listen to our thoughts on the game, watch us get hit... a lot... and give this maybe misunderstood classic another try. 

On Level 4, we introduce our very first guest, Matthew, the fittest and most handsome fella we know and we take on the entire American library of games created for the Nintendo Power Pad and very nearly die trying. Watch as Matt does stretches to Dance Aerobics, John cooks up disgusting burgers in Short Order, Andy does the fastest (digital) 100m dash in the history of the world (fact check missing), and all three boys take to the streets to mop up crime in Street Cop! We're still not breathing correctly...

Join John and Andy as they step into the ring to fight some of history's greatest monsters as history's smallest boxer. And they're not too shabby at it! It's Punch-Out! for the NES and SNES... yes, I pronounced them like full words. NESSSS. SNESSSS.

John and Andy return after a long night of fighting dragons and exploring dungeons to tackle the worldwide epidemic: Street Toughs. From River City to "The City" and everywhere weird in-between, watch as they battle hordes of enemies constantly approaching just off the right side of the screen... and occasionally... the left.
Episode note: Once again, the word I bleeped out was Gamer. Gamers have given themselves a bad name in recent years and Andy and I don't want to be "Gamers" we just like video games and want to play them. But the bleeping of the word wasn't funny so this is the last episode I'll do it in.

Episode Note: The word I bleep out is Gamer. Gamers have given themselves a bad name over the last few years, and I bleeped out the word thinking I was making some statement like, "Andy and I aren't Gamers, please don't call us that, we just like to play video games." In hindsight, it's not really funny, so it's only for the first two episodes. Don't be Gamers, kids, just be good people who play video games.
