Body Empowerment Project Part 1

The YANApodcast with NAMI Philly

For the first part of a 6 episode series, we start off Eating Disorder Awareness Month talking with Amanda and Christina about their organization, Body Empowerment Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2021 to help empower youth to find body acceptance and self-worth. They lead educational workshops for college, middle school, and high school students about body image and self-esteem in order to decrease eating disorder risk. Students leave their program with a new appreciation for themselves, a transformed idea of what it means to be healthy, acceptance of their bodies, and the courage to advocate for themselves and others.
