Good, depending on the hosts

I love the spirit of this podcast, and I mostly learn a lot by osmosis. Sometimes they do seem a little uppity, so that's a turn off. I'm not a big fan of Carla Music, whose voice and speech patterns just irritate me. Andy B. makes great videos, but I don't think his input makes for the best listening experience either.
I like most other people who come on, though.

Respect your guests and colleagues by letting them talk

I listen to this podcast for inspiration to try new things in the kitchen. I love the episodes where we get to hear Carla, Chris, and Molly banter about techniques and ingredients. I wish I could listen to this show more, but it’s too infuriating to hear the regular host, Adam, speak over his guests and colleagues. Notice how he often he says “but—“ during his interviews; he may think that he is simply building on the other person’s point, but in actuality, he is correcting/dismissing what they said to vocalize his own opinions. He interrupts women most of all (and the comments show that I’m not the only person to notice). For example, listen to the way he kept correcting Gabriela Camara, a Mexican chef, about the details of Mexican cuisine. In a previous episode, Adam dismissed criticisms of his interrupting, saying it’s just a part of his personality. That doesn’t make it better, Adam. That makes it worse.

I want to listen to this podcast more, but I don’t appreciate hearing the guests spoken over and dismissed, especially the women, and especially in an industry notorious for sexism.

Love,love,love!!

I love the passion, energy, and experience that the host, staff, and guests bring to this podcast. I do not live in NYC, but I very much enjoy hearing about the food scene and restaurants. Adam is funny, & well informed. I take his interrupting as pure enthusiasm!!! I look forward to the weekly release. My only negative was the rice episodes- maybe I’m missing something since I’m in a minority but wow they really had rambling down to a science!
