This week on the show I interview author Gemma Clatworthy. Gemma loves writing and started publishing her stories during the 2020 Coronavirus lockdown. As well as her debut urban fantasy series, Rise of Dragons, she writes children’s books and has a craft blog.

She lives with her family and their two cats in Wiltshire, UK. In her spare time, Gemma enjoys crafts of all kinds and playing board games.

Gemma is also one of the amazing authors (myself included) appearing in the upcoming Urban Fantasy short story anthology, Summer Solstice Shenanigans anthology.

    Here’s my chat with Gemma.

Good day and welcome to this episode of the Books and Authors Fantasy and Sci-Fi Podcast. I’m your host, podcaster and author of Fun Fantasy Reads, Jamie Davis. This podcast is exactly what the title says it is, a show focused on everything in fantasy books.

This show will cover everything to do with fantasy books. Plus we’ll add in a few other very special guests as well along the way.

To start off this week’s show, I am right in between projects and will be talking to a few potential collaborators over the next week about which project to start writing next. In the meantime, I’ll continue writing the brand new N’SPACE sci fi epic to be released on the new Kindle Vella platform coming out later this month. I’ll have more details on that soon.

You can check out more information on what I’m up to, including sneak peeks of upcoming covers, special giveaways, and more, by visiting my fan group on Facebook, Jamie’s Fun Fantasy Readers and over at my website and blog, JamieDavisBooks.com. I look forward to hearing from you.

Let’s jump into this week’s guest, author Fiona Grey. Fiona lives in the Midwest with an amazing husband and Writing Cat. After years of technical writing and editing, her creative brain escaped into the wild, likely as a consequence of severe over-education.

She enjoys thinking nonlinearly and introversion. Other people claim this is “weird,” which is unsubstantiated. We talk about her series, “Professor Porter Paranormals” as well as her excellent related short story in the Summer Solstice Shenanigans anthology.

    Here’s my chat with Fiona.

Blending Asian Locations with Fantasy Stories with Noah K. Sturdevant on the Books and Authors Podcast

This is the Books and Authors Fantasy Podcast Episode 176 with Noah K. Sturdevant.

This show will cover everything to do with fantasy books. Plus we’ll add in a few other very special guests as well along the way.

Kicking things off this week with my own author update, I’m almost finished with a new short story that I’ll be sharing with my newsletter and with a new group of urban fantasy readers from several authors. The story is a newish twist on the urban fantasy stories that I hope will resonate with my readers as well as others who love these kinds of books.

Shifting gears to this week’s guest, I’m excited to welcome Noah K. Sturdevant to the show. Noah is a man of mystery and intrigue. Granted, most of the secrets revolve around lost socks and conspiracy theories about otters. Word to the wise, don’t get him started on the otter thing unless you’ve got a free weekend.

Noah grew up in Southeast Kansas, but has lived in Asia for the last decade, bouncing from South Korea, to China, to Bangkok, Thailand, where he’s spent the last seven years.

Noah never really knows what’s going on, but attempts to have a good time anyway. He hopes you have as much fun reading his fantasy books as he does writing them.

Noah is also one of the excellent authors who are included in the just released Urban Fantasy short story anthology, Summer Solstice Shenanigans. You’ll definitely want to pick up this awesome urban fantasy collection.

Kicking things off this week with my own author update, I’m deep into a short story I’m writing set in a whole new series. It’s urban fantasy and features a fun twist I haven’t seen anywhere else out there. I don’t want to give too much away, but I’m working on the short story to see how I like the characters and the world in which they live before I commit to writing a full series about it.

Joining us on the show today we have author L.A. McGinnis. She spends her days writing steamy urban fantasies filled with brooding heroes and smart, bold heroines. A life-long fascination with mythology and storytelling inspired her to weave these contemporary tales of legendary fated mates set in gritty, urban settings like New York, Chicago and London.

She’s also one of the amazing authors in the just released Urban Fantasy short story anthology, Summer Solstice Shenanigans.

Exploring India’s Rich Mythology Through Fantasy with Sudha Kuruganti on the Books and Authors Podcast

This is the Books and Authors Fantasy Podcast Episode 174 with Sudha Kuruganti.

Let’s jump in with my writing update this week. I’m having a lot of fun writing the N’SPACE humorous sci-fi space opera serial. It has been making me chuckle to myself as I run the characters through their antics to solve their various challenges. It will be released exclusively to the Kindle Vella platform that will be launching later this summer. I’ll have more on that soon as well as how you can get access and read these fun stories.

Joining us today is author Sudha Kuruganti. Sudha writes fantasy inspired by Indian mythology. She loves books, anime, coffee, chocolate, manga, Beatles music, and dogs—not necessarily in that order.

Her work includes a clean paranormal romance series, the Elementals of India, and the Legend Valley Academy trilogy, a diverse fantasy tale of screwups and second chances, and finding your place in the world.

When she’s not writing, Sudha is usually nose deep in a book, experimenting with strange online recipes on her Air Force officer husband, or playing with their young son.

She’s also one of the amazing authors in the just released Urban Fantasy short story anthology, Summer Solstice Shenanigans..

I interviewed her all the way from India and there’s a little background noise in the recording but the interview itself is great so I hope you’ll enjoy my interview with Sudha coming up next.

Kicking things off this week with my author update, I’m between major book projects right now and I’m using that break to work on two smaller projects at once. I’m writing a short story to see how I like an idea for a new series I came up with. More on that as I get into it.

I’m also working on my Kindle Vella humorous space serial project, N’SPACE. If you like reading serial fiction on WattPad, Radish, or similar sites, you’ll probably want to check out Kindle Vella later this summer when it launches. I’ll keep you up to date on what’s going on with that series as it continues to grow.

Today on the show, I have K.A. Last joining us. Kim has always been artistic and creative. She has a diploma in Graphic Design and has worked in the publishing industry for more than twenty years. Blessed with a vivid imagination, she began writing to let off creative steam and fell in love with it.

She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Charles Sturt University with a major in English, and minors in Children’s Literature, Art History, and Visual Culture. She resides in the Australian countryside with her family and a menagerie of animals.
