We watch old stuff and talk about how it makes us feel. Part personal reflection. Part cultural commentary. Some analysis. A lot of profanity. Sometimes smart. Often funny. Always friends sharing what it's like to be people who grew up in the media-saturated 90s, under the influence of all the moments, narratives, aesthetics, and absurdities that defined the time and us. Punch and pie.

    Step by Step

    Step by Step

We watched an inane sitcom and talked about our brains instead.
I said last week that this would be out later, but the next episode we recorded for Patreon ended up being a kind of companion to this. So we figured we'd put this one out now and that Patreon episode out next week. Probably not necessary to explain that. But there you go.

    My So-Called Life, "Pilot"

    My So-Called Life, "Pilot"

We talk about the hazy old first episode of My So-Called Life, which Rob watched after lonely days at his new high school in 1996. Crazy parents, good kids, dreamy guys, and the virtues of VHS quality TV.

Not safe for work!

Man, I'm just trying to listen to some dudes talk about Office Space and next thing I know I'm having to stop myself from walking out of my crappy retail job when these guys go off on the anti-capitalist, anti-corporate tirade of a lifetime. One of these days they're gonna inadvertently convince me to do it. (This isn't a joke.)

Incredibly insightful, clever, and honest discourse between Rob and Joe on this show. I've listened to a lot of similar podcasts, but none are ever this real. It blows my mind how they're able to pull such deep conversations from what are usually surface level television shows. At the same time, they don't take themselves too seriously and keep the vibe fun.

A criminally underrated podcast. I hope they don't stop anytime soon.
