98. REBEKAH WHEELER - TRAUMA HEALING
PODCAST EPISODE - REBEKAH WHEELER - TRAUMA HEALING #98
Join your host Sophia as she interviews Rebekah Wheeler, CNM working in the hospital based setting. They discuss the difference in care between hospital and home birth, how hospitals can be slow to change outdated policies, evidence based verse experience based informed consent, perinatal mental health, sanctuary trauma, uterine massage, birth control, and transport from home to hospital.
Rebekah Wheeler is a Certified Nurse-Midwife, an educator, and an expert in birth trauma prevention and treatment. She has worked as a birth professional for almost 20 years, during which she has learned a lot about what helps support people to feel pride and a sense of accomplishment after giving birth, no matter how labor goes. She became a Perinatal Mental Health and Birth Trauma expert after seeing how little support there is out there to help people heal from difficult birth experiences. She offers birth trauma healing sessions virtually to clients anywhere, and in-person in the Bay area.

Customer Reviews
So helpful!
Love this podcast for not only educational topics but also being able to hear birth stories! It’s so helpful to hear the real and raw of what home-birth and childbirth looks like. Highly recommend. Especially for first time moms.
Great podcast
Love these women! As an aspiring midwife, I appreciate the topics covered and find the stories and insights so valuable! Look forward to when new episodes show up. Please keep it going and I would love to hear more about the lifestyle of a midwife too and more traditional and hands off approaches <3
