    Abisara Machold: You Are Enough

    Abisara Machold: You Are Enough

This is Boss Women Unfold, a series of honest and intimate conversations with phenomenal women. For our last episode of season 1, we’re joined by boss woman, Abisara Machold.

Abisara is the founder and CEO of Inhairitance Curl Spa in Montreal and the founder of the Natural Hair Congress. She also holds a Masters in Political and Communication Science from the University of Vienna. She wrote and researched extensively about Black Identity Construction and Black Feminism, to understand herself and to acquire the necessary vocabulary to express the feelings she experienced while growing up in a primarily white society.

Together, Noëlly and Abisara talk about entrepreneurship from a Black woman's perspective, the importance of creating safe spaces and the politics of Black hair. And, they discuss how a mission to empower and educate has inspired a million-dollar business.

Although recorded pre-COVID and the recent BLM movement, this conversation is even more relevant now.

    Abisara’s book suggestions:

    1. Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment and How it Can Help You Find and Keep Love by Amir Levine and Rachel S. F. Heller

    2. Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits and Break Bad Ones by James Clear

    3. The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and in Business by Charles Duhigg

    4. Binti by Nnedi Okorafor

*** This is the last interview of season 1. We’re taking a short break to record our second season for the fall! Stay tuned for more updates and our bonus episode next week!
