    SPEEDardy!

    SPEEDardy!

Surprise test, hothead! Just when the BOP crew thought they could enjoy some much-needed R&R, they're pulled away from their vacation to stop a madman threatening to destroy everything we hold dear: their co-host! Welcome to SPEEDARDY, the game show where the velocity is made up and the pedestrians don't matter, organized by Quizmaster Cody to test the limits of his friends' knowledge of the Jan de Bont crowd-pleaser... if only they had actually watched the movie beforehand. Will Mike get the girl, or will it be Jamie who discovers how few relationships based on intense experiences ever work out? Will we learn why Willem Dafoe needs a bathtub of leeches to fight off his Computer Sickness? Will ANY of this actually circle back to the 1994 blockbuster Speed?! Probably not. SAW X Commentary Track

    SAW X Commentary Track

With the Oscars behind us, many are taking a second look at the remarkable stories from last year that have been tragically overlooked by the academy. Tonight, Box Office Pulp would like to spotlight one such story, that of a humble engineer who forgot to cherish the little things, until a surprise diagnosis introduced him to a new hobby, a new gal, and a new lease on life. Before he can finish his life's work, though, he must rail against an uncaring medical system and stop the exploitative business practices of a corrupt institution, or else this will be one jigsaw puzzle left unsolved! In their final BOP n' A Movie audio commentary track on the series-- until next year, sat least-- the crew have finally reached Saw X, the John/Amanda reunion America didn't know it wanted. Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith are back in the playhouse, the script is free to set up absolutely nothing for a sequel, and there's an actual budget this time around, so does the THIRD return of a franchise that doesn't believe in letting itself die finally recapture the gruesome magic fans have been longing for since the original trilogy? If the words "we have a rope" mean anything to you, then you already know the answer! JOIN HOFFMAN'S EPIC BACON PIRATE NINJA MEME PAGE BY DOWNLOADING HERE. SPIRAL: FROM THE BOOK OF SAW Commentary Track

SPIRAL: FROM THE BOOK OF SAW Commentary Track

Tonight the C in ACAB stands for Chris Rock, as we take a look at the delayed, maligned, and overlooked soft reboot of the Saw franchise... no, the other one, 2021's Spiral: From The Book of SAW! In this Bop n' A Movie commentary track, we travel back to a time of chaos and uncertainty, where America was terrified by police brutality and the indoctrination of its youth into violent ideologies by charismatic extremists-- thank God that's over. It was a time when the horror community was shocked not just by another comedian entering the game, but by Darren Lynn Bousman's return to the series after seemingly cutting ties with Lionsgate, and the anticipated film missing its release due to a trivial complication like a global pandemic. Seen as a disappointment and forgotten by a series that keeps everything, did we miss out on a bold return to Saw's pulp roots, or does it deserve to be buried along with Jigsaw? The movie, you know, not the... well, I guess him, too. KEEP JOHN KRAMER'S NAME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH BY DOWNLOADING HERE. JIGSAW Commentary Track

    JIGSAW Commentary Track

A BOP n' A Movie commentary track? But that podcast has been dead for ten years! The only explanation can be that there's a copycat on the loose, and it's set its sights on the most vulnerable member of the Saw family: 2017's forgotten soft reboot, Jigsaw! Crank up the Roy Orbison and grab your favorite bucket, as persons unknown revisit Lionsgate's first attempt to resurrect a dead horse,  but is the only entry from The Brothers Spierig the return to simplicity they wanted? Filled with new characters, time jumps, fan sites, retcons, and more expendable detectives than you can shake a Tapp at, can one of the men who gave us Good Luck Chuck create an apprentice who will finally make John Kramer proud? Step inside the ol' Tuck Ranch and we'll have a look... We commentate for the Dead, so download here... for the dead! SAW VII (3D): THE FINAL CHAPTER Commentary Track

SAW VII (3D): THE FINAL CHAPTER Commentary Track

We can't say the man didn't warn us it would get bloody. Unfortunately, our plunge into America's favorite amputation-based horror franchise has brought us to this BOP n' A Tragedy commentary for Saw 7, AKA Saw 3D, AKA Saw 33⅓: The Final Insult. Opening with Jigsaw saying the name "Brad" and going downhill from there, this attempt to squeeze a few more drops of blood out of the Hoffman saga killed the franchise as we knew it, with poorly utilized 3D, a threadbare script, and a style that screams "the director only participated under threat of lawsuit." Is there anything to love about the last dance of Mark and Jill, or was too much lost in the attempt to blend two very different movies together in one hastily-constructed finale? Was finally pulling the pin on Cary Elwes worth it? Is The Final Chapter a glass coffin constructed by its own producers? Will a flashback ever reveal why John Kramer wears is hat that way? In Saw fashion, we may or may not answer any of these questions! Fulfill a decade of fan theories by downloading the commentary here! The Humbugs of Cinema: A Christmas Carol(s) Retrospective

The Humbugs of Cinema: A Christmas Carol(s) Retrospective

Old Box Office Pulp was better than its word. It returned to the well of Dickens yet again that December, to spend another holiday discussing where the adaptations of A Christmas Carol fell on the gravy-grave scale. They ranked the various Scrooges, Fezzywigs, Marleys, and infinitely more; and to Cody, who did NOT die of alcohol poisoning last commentary, there was much introspection on the logistics of employing a street urchin, the bizarre phenomenon of Scrooge Action Scenes, why Albert Finney decided to go Full Witch, whether London bookie Eddie Scrooge ever beat that murder rap, and whether the miser truly ever had become as good a friend, as good a master, and as good a man, as the movies always said. And so, as BOP Guy once observed, "Box Office Pulp hasn't felt holiday cheer since he licked a car battery and was legally dead for thirty seconds!" Ruined by horrible laughter. Don’t bother.

I keep forgetting why I need to unsubscribe to this podcast until I try to listen to one and hear one of the hosts unleash his abrupt out of place jerky-jerky backwards breathing inward monkey laughter, his laughter doesn’t seem natural in two ways, first it’s so awful sounding you’d just rather do anything else, but it also sounds forced or contrived in some way... just unnaturally stupid. It always takes me right out of the experience of commentary mode. For me it completely ruins the show.

What a blast!

This show is just so fun. It’s got a laid back vibe, the hosts have truly great chemistry, and their banter isn’t boring... which is refreshing.

They will teach you some stuff and make you laugh. Subscribe to this show and do yourself a favor!
