On today's 'BradCast':  Just weeks ago, the Trump Death Cultists on Fox 'News' and in Republican-controlled states were railing against the media and demanding apologies from those who warned that prematurely reopening states was a terrible idea. Today, at least 56 Florida hospital ICU's have now hit capacity -- just one GOP-led state where political decisions have had deadly consequences. Infections and hospitalizations are now rising sharply in 31 states. New conservative estimates forecast a mortality rate of more than 200,000 U.S. deaths from COVID-19 by November 1 -- others project as many as 500,000 -- while noting that some 45,000 lives could be saved in that time if everyone simply wore masks in public. At what point does it become a criminal act when Donald Trump, VP Pence and Gov. DeSantis command schoolchildren to go back to in-person classrooms next month, during a pandemic, under threat of financial penalty, and in defiance of CDC guidelines?  The CDC is changing its guidelines for schools after Trump called complained they were too "tough" and "expensive."  Trump and Attorney General Bill Barr are also lying about absentee voting amid the pandemic. EDDIE PEREZ, Global Director of Technology and Standards at the OSET (Open Source Election Technology) Institute, debunks many of the lies about mail-in voting being infectiously spread by Trump, why the claims are largely nonsense, and why private, for-profit voting system vendors are not equipped to meet the critical needs of transparent, overseeable elections in support of American democracy.  Also today: The US Supreme Court hands down two disturbing opinions allowing religious organizations to ignore anti-discrimination laws, because "freedom of religion" apparently now includes the freedom to take actual freedoms away from everyone else...
