The Strategy to learn anything and test it for Effectiveness With Barbosa Sensei

The Strategy to learn anything and test it for Effectiveness With Barbosa Sensei

This Episode Master Barbosa gives a taste of the C.A.S.M.I.R strategy. It is the master plan for any behavior change you are about to make or anything you want to start doing, and it could be the BJJ journey you are about to enter, it consists of six questions that you should ask yourself when you are about to conceive your plan. If you have complete control over and take responsibility to do it yourself without any help or relying on anybody to perform, therefore you can blame nobody but yourself for any possible failure. It must be achievable, a pine on the sky plan is not going to work, a 1000 mile journey starts with an only simple step!
Your plan must be attainable with your ability to do it successfully, and Simplicity is the key, your method has to be concise enough for an easy understanding, clear to the point. Having a measurable outcome is crucial to your plan success, how exactly you are going to do it, know the legality of it, and anticipate any glitches and have enough flexibility to adjust.
Once you got this far, do not waste time thinking about it or dwelling about your plan, TAKE ACTION NOW!
Once you got the ball rolling, your plan must be repeatable; once you repeat over and over again, it will become a HABIT, ONCE BECOMES A HABIT YOU WILL CHANGE YOUR BEHAVIOR FOR GOOD! BE BOLD, BE STRONG, FEEL THE FEAR, AND DO IT ANYWAY!

The Meaning of Osu with Barbosa Sensei

The Meaning of Osu with Barbosa Sensei

Unfortunate, today you see everybody using this term Osu all over the Facebook just because they liked a picture! Few know the profound meaning of this Japanese word. Barbosa Sensei explains with detail what Osu means to the real Budoka.
To him It is the inner Tiger ready to be unleashed by those who know how to harness its power, it is tough to explain he says, but when a Karateka scream OSU, he feels the power overcoming his whole body, it reveals itself in many forms, for some is a like a shock wave, for others is a boost of adrenaline, I know it sounds cliche out of a comic book, but with hard training it will manifest itself to you.

Great bjj pod for anyone, any age

This is an excellent podcast for anyone interested in bjj, not just men and not just those over 40. I like that it offers a perspective that is outside of the young American bjj bubble. The guests are often Brazilian veterans who have a wider perspective from practicing for a long time. They offer more insight than the “just train bro!” mentality that is common these days. It’s a bummer that it appears the podcast is dormant. I hope it comes back because it is one of the best bjj podcasts out there.

Bbakerx ,

This is a great podcast - no fluff.

Hey I’m over 40 and considering the study of BJJ. I work in IT I have 3 young children from 1-6yrs old and I think BJJ would be good for me both physically and mentally. I have really enjoyed your podcast so far. Please don’t stop. It has been good as I have been researching BJJ.
Also I hear it’s good for your podcast if people rate them on iTunes etc. so here is mine. From one Brother to another this has really opened my eyes to the different degrees in BJJ and it’s possible benefit to my life. There is no reason why I should not go start my journey. I’m going to go find a place to train. Thanks for keeping it all on the level. Thanks for doing what you do!

October 10th 2019 - Joshua, what happened to your show? Are you still going to continue this for men over 40?

Looking forward to new episodes. Either way all the best to you!

- Brian
