5 Steps To Reclaim The Body You Desire
“This is who I am. get up, take action, do not procrastinate…” - effortless, automated, self talk when my alarm, for my workout, went off at 4:30am this week.
Truth - that statement is only recently true again.
I had fallen “off track” from BEing and therefore DOing a few key things that empower me to be at my BEST…
Shocking right!?
You might be thinking - Rebecca, you preach this stuff how did you “fall off track” It can happen to any of us apparently.
For me it was between a back injury last year and then “busy” with work that I love Slowly over the last year, I had unknowingly normalized not going to the gym every day… and that was a slippery slope
Does “busy” sound relatable
For me the injury was a necessary time off initially and a slow process to move let alone really workout… but because it became normal to not be moving with intention every day the “busy” crept in and filled the space…what had been protected time and non negotiable for YEARS (my workouts) became negotiable. Here’s the thing my body didn’t get too far out of whack because.. I‘ve learned how to eat what I want when I want without gaining weight Plus, I was getting enough movement/workouts in to maintain - although a little smooshier than my normal :) BUT for me my self care, including workouts that challenge me, is a huge support to my mental health to avoid/minimize depression/stress/anxiety and hold greater focus, clarity, joy and peace. Because we slowly normalize our backwards slopes we often don’t recognize when it’s happening. Thankfully I caught it and disliked how I felt enough to do something about it. And thankfully I have a few tactics up my sleeve to CHOOSE to get “back on track”and in alignment with who I know the best version of myself to be. Our VERY best is experienced and given when we are AT our very best. We can’t give what we don’t have… And I am looking at 50 in a few months! so let’s go!!
