Young Elizabeth: Becoming a Queen with Nicola Tallis (ep 185)

Before she was Gloriana, celebrating her victory over the Spanish Armada; before she was the Virgin Queen, revered in England and across Europe; before she was the longest reigning Tudor monarch, she was just young Elizabeth. Dr Nicola Tallis shares the journey of the young princess and how her early trials and turmoil prepared her to take the throne as the final, and some say greatest, Tudor.

Great history pod

I love anything involving kings and queens. I enjoy listening to this pod cast of that history

SensationalShay ,

Can’t deal with all the sounds.

Found this by accident and thought I would give it a try. The host has a bad habit of stopping and smacking/swallowing mid sentence. It’s so off putting when you are listening. I listening to two episodes and she did it in both the whole way through.

Also, she speaks way too fast when telling the facts. Might be doing this because the episodes are so short and so she’s trying to get everything in but it doesn’t work.

Love this!

I popped in just for an episode while doing research on Anne Boleyn and fell for the podcast - head over heels. Joyful and entertaining! …makes me wish I had a long drive ahead of me!
