The founders chat with licensed social worker and sex therapist, Sonalee Rashatwar (she/they), about a topic that can be at times equal parts frustrating, confusing and enlightening: gender. The South Asian Sexual **and Mental** Health Alliance, or SASMHA, is a collective of youth organizers who seek to create a safe space for youth ages 13-30 of the South Asian diaspora. Our goal is to educate, empower, and find strength as a community to discuss our unique experiences as Asian-American young adults, fighting stigma and increasing access to resources, peers, information, etc. on the topics of identity development, sexual health, reproductive health, mental health, consent, healthy relationships, and other key issues.
