The Bucky Kennedy Podcast takes a common-sense approach to understanding and applying the Bible in everyday life. Bucky often looks at the biblical perspective on contemporary topics. At other times he examines a passage verse-by-verse. Either way, Bucky teaches scriptural truth with down-home language and a little humor.
An Attitude of Brokenness
The Beatitudes aren’t commands, but spiritual attitudes displayed by those who truly follow Jesus. Jesus started with being poor in spirit, which is having an attitude of brokenness. He gave them in a certain order for a reason. Because until you’re broken before the Lord, every other spiritual attitude Jesus described is unattainable. Brokenness isn’t a bad thing, it’s a blessing.
The Courage to Be Happy
What if a completely trustworthy person gave you a fool-proof plan for happiness? Well, that’s exactly what Jesus does in the Sermon on the Mount. Of course, everyone wants to be happy but few have the courage to follow the plan Jesus prescribed. So what does it mean to be genuinely and authentically happy?
Emir Caner on Conflict in Middle East
Bucky sits down with Dr. Emir Caner to talk about the present conflict in the Middle East. They discuss the various people groups involved and their agendas; as well as what is fueling antisemitism in the United States. Dr. Caner is a former Muslim and the President of Truett-McConnell University in Cleveland, Georgia.
This is the first message in a series called, The Jesus Agenda. This series thoroughly explores the Sermon on the Mount, in which Jesus sets the agenda for how believers should live. The attitudes and character traits taught in Matthew 5-7 are the rock solid foundation for the inevitable storms of life. Are you storm ready?
Revelation: The Millennial Kingdom
Few believers know much about the Millennial Kingdom of Christ. Maybe that’s because there are three different views about what it actually is and when it will take place. So, what do we know for sure about the thousand year reign of Jesus Christ? While Revelation 20 tells us a great deal about the millennium, Old Testament references add to the picture.
The Mission of Money
There’s a fundamental connection between our spiritual lives and how we think about and handle money. From God’s point of view, our faith and our finances are inseparable. That’s why fifteen percent of what Jesus said in the Bible deals with the topic of money. So, what is the mission of money?
