    • Personal Journals

What if a buddy didn't just mean someone you can chat with about things you like or stuff you have in common with like your taste in music or hobbies? What if your buddy also made you feel less isolated and, in your dark moments, helped save your life? On April 8th, 2013, after discovering three girls on Twitter contemplating suicide, then 15-year old Gabby Frost decided to create Buddy Project. In the same way she felt supported by online communities she joined, Gabby thought she could pair people up as buddies. With this peer support system, her goal was to to help prevent suicide and raise awareness for mental health.
